I know he's keeping up this act but at the same time I get the impression he does think he's pretty OK. From what I can tell he sees himself as a joker who lightened the mood and is offended by negative reactions...or maybe this is part of the act, I'm confused

Absolutely. And the fact that he won has confirmed in his mind that he is OK, better than many others in fact. I'm pretty sure he genuinely thinks he is, in his words, charming. If all of his family have also not only condoned his behaviour, but praised and encouraged it, probably all his life, along with people like Marnie, Lewis & Chloe who, in his mind, have confirmed this.

Most people know when they're being d*cks, even if they don't agree they'll respond to the reaction of others. He keeps on saying how positive and fun he is, at first I thought he was being kinda ironic but you can see the bitterness when people don't agree.

Agree - same goes for some of his fans who are STILL offering up some of the most ridiculous excuses I've ever read in this gaff.
It's pitiful.
Either he's so thick and lacking in self-awareness to an astounding degree (which would suggest some kind of psycological impairment) or he absolutely knows he's being an arsehole and doens't GAF.
