Tracy and David are poor together and don't have any chemistry. Put David back with Leyla, since Alicia is no longer around.

As if Carly would go for someone like Marlon. I know it isn't all about looks, but feel they have only been put together for April.

Bailey and Belle don't work at all. Split these two up and put Charity and Bailey together,

Let Moira and Cain work things out with their marriage.

Spoiler
Ross and Kerry have a one night stand. Why is the producer damaging the Kerry and Dan relationship? They are brilliant together

Bit weird, innit. Maybe the storyliners think people will lose interest unless it's musical chairs. Don't think there's a single couple on ED that works for me right now, which is strange, because it used to be something they were really good at.

Victoria & Adam are quite believable, but a bit dull. I'm guessing Cain will end up back with Moira eventually, but not sure what'll be left by the time they've both had affairs with other people. The only couple I do quite like now is Rhona and Pierce, and he's clearly bonkers.

I commented on Facebook about the fact I wasn't convinced Marlon and Carly would get together and got absolutely slaughtered by everyone saying how shallow I am and how it isn't about looks. Which kind of proved my point as I wasn't really thinking about the looks, more of what a wet drip he is.

I find the Bailey and Belle thing the daftest of the lot. She looks like a schoolkid, and their romance was unbelievable . He was a doctor, had an attractive wife and a lovely home , yet now he's seems happy to be one of the Dingle mob, living in a manky house, alongside pigs. It's just laughable

Great idea. I could really see Bailey and Charity having a fling. I really like Bailey and wouldn't mind seeing him stick around but i feel his shelf life is increasingly becoming shorter.

Because Kate Oates decided to make a big old mess and have every couple cheat on her way out.
I can't tell if the new producer is trying to fix that by rushing these odd pairings, I wouldn't mind some of them so much if they had some build up.
Pierce and Rhona told each other that they loved each other last night???
Since when were Carly and Marlon best friends???
Don't get me started on the nonsense that is Travid/Dacey it must be his cancer treatment there's no other explanation.

I think Tracey and David are a good couple but the writing for them stinks. The constant nagging to get married is actually rather disturbing. But it's being played for laughs. I don't find it funny at all. It makes me hate David more than I already do.

I can't keep up with all the partner swapping,is that all they can come up with,I really don't care about watching any of the soaps anymore.I don't know if I just live in a dull area but everyone is with their partners and don't seam to be sleeping with their neighbours is that normal?

If I was Tracey I'd have had enough by now. David simply can't take no for an answer.

Don't know! Relationship stories can be really good - but you've got to care who ends up with who, and feel that one option is something that'll make both parties happy.

It's just so overused at the moment - affairs by Paddy/Tess, Zak/Joanie, Bailey/Belle, Bernice/Andy, Cain/Charity, Nicola/Dan and soon
Spoiler
Moira/James.

And some of the other couples just seem random to me - Carly/Marlon (WTF?), David/Tracey - both done like really bad romcoms.

I just find them dull, because I don't really care who ends up with who now. And meanwhile, good characters like Leyla, Megan and Harriett are given nothing to do. Tis a shame!

Carly is too wholesome for Gemma Atkinson, she was a slapper in Hollyoaks and suits that role more.

When Robron are the most stable couple, you know there is an issue!

(I love Robron but they've hardly been a stable couple)

Edit: Forgot about Bob and Brenda!

Lisa's self-harm storyline showed Gemma's abilities and I think she's been great as Carly

I think Kate Oates thought she was keeping the show "fresh" by breaking up every couple and I guess Iain MacLeod subscribes to that same thinking but I think its a huge mistake you can keep things interesting without breaking up couples. One great example was Nick and Sharon on The Young and the Restless they were married in their 20s and 30's at the time and married for 10 years, that was something rarely seen on a soap but Y&R was able to make their marriage work and keep the relationship interesting and front burner at the same time.

Relationship breaking up /reconciling/breaking up surely have a shelf life of not very long? Bailey and Belle are probably the worst of the unbelievable pairings mentioned by so many above although David and Tracy run a close second. Tracy has never been a character I could take to and I used to quite like David and I thought his linking up with Leyla was really good.

I am glad that I record the programme so that I can fast-forward through the bits I don't like which increasingly means that I fast-forward rather a lot!

Couldn't agree more.

And don''t get me started on Carly & Moron.

And poor Cute Underused Finn, seems destined to never have a proper relationship, random or otherwise.

Yes, it all seems a bit ludicrous lately, doesn't it? Added to that the looming couples breakups too....

He once had sex with a guy who thought he owned Home Farm and was a millionaire.

He also had an unsatisfactory and unbelievable bonk with the Miserable One.

Then he fancied a nurse, but as soon as they started going out, Finn was given a personality transplant and behaved like a sex-allergic dick.

Since then, he's had less gay sex than Lawrence.

Ross was so jealous that is why he attacked Aaron, he wished Aaron had bedded him

Great summary!

Especially the line in bold
