People might not like it but liz is right. Steve is gonna see leanne with the baby knowing he's the dad and it will get to him and liz will be the babies gran so of course she has a right and this being a soap it's a certainty the truth will come out. One thing im hoping doesn't happen is something cruel like michelle losing her baby. It wouldn't surprise me if corrie did that.
But she has to realise aswell that if the truth comes out then she may not see any baby. Michelle isn't going to be pleased that Liz knew |

Maybe but it is still his decision. And Liz has no say as she wouldn't have any legal rights. Maybe he really doesn't want anything to do with it and Nick could well ending up adopting it. Think that would be quite interesting.

Sorry, but that comes across as either unkind or ignorant.
Having suffered with depression, and having been signed off for it, being able to 'afford' the time off doesn't come into it. Yes you carry on as long as possible, often because you are worried about money but when you get to a certain stage, you are too sick to be able to work and that is it. And worrying about money won't go away when signed off if not on full pay. Also worrying that you won't have a job to go back to but if bad enough, there is no choice other than to be signed off and sometimes even go into Hospital. You might as well say "glad they can afford to have time off for a heart attack, most people can't". Clinical Depression is not just feeling a bit down, upset, stressed which of course everybody experiences and force themselves to get through. It is an illness which is debilitating and beyond their control. |

Liz's stint since 2013 has been mostly crap. Ranging from mocking Steve about him wanting to go to college, yelling out of the Rovers window and refusing the ladder to be taken away, goading Tracy about Amy, and among other things. Truly awful character. The McDonalds are tired and need removing from the Rovers, and get in some likable, strong characters. Their personal family life is boring and just goes in circles, write a character who actually cares for the pub.
They've made her into a one-dimensional nag who seems to prefer Michelle to her own son and has joined her in bullying and berating Steve. As for Leanne's baby, she is bound to show concern. But as usual for Corrie we have had an OTT reaction. Meanwhile, dear sweet little Michelle is happy and oblivious. ![]() ![]()

That scene where Liz pushed Steve into the corridor was awful to watch. Whispering and gurning.

She is basically an unlikeable character.
Won't be long before she's off work again with "depression".. glad she can afford to have time off with depression, most normal folk can't ! |

I have severe depression and anyone trivialising it clearly hasn't experienced how much it can ravage a person's life.
I hope that you never have to experience it either yourself or through someone you care about, but for the love of God, if you can't empathise with people who suffer from things that you have no understanding of then just keep your cake hole shut. |

Between them they seem to have infantilized Steve, so that he can't behave like an adult, Surely he wasn't as bad as this before he got together with Michelle?

I remember him standing up to Karen on many occasions, infact didn't he basically force her out of the Street? And she was a force to be reckoned with herself unlike prissy Michelle.

That was the biggest part of Steve and Karen's relationship - they both gave as good as they got and neither would back down and admit that they were in the wrong.
Becky was lucky she was a good character outside of the relationship so she got a pass a fair bit but since Michelle sucks altogether it's made her even more horrendous. |

They've tried too many times to recreate that couple since and it has just failed as they've made Steve weaker and weaker and the women he's with harsher.

What's ironic is that Steve and Karen were first put together as a bit of a joke and I don't think that the production team had any intention of them staying together long term, but Suranne Jones and Simon Gregson worked so well together that they became the show's most iconic couple of the 2000s. Steve needs a new direction away from women. |

They need to get the McDonald's out of the Rovers they don't work in there. I always thought Steve and Leanne could work if he wasn't with Michelle as I would like Leanne in the Rovers but this storyline with the one night stand is awful. Liz is so interfering and I'm sure when it all comes out we are all meant to see Michelle as a saint. I really wish Nick was the actual father rather than this daft story. They should have had Leanne and Nick get back together and then them have a miracle child.
