Who has the most to gain from being in Strictly's class of 2016?

I know we haven't seen them dance a step yet but, assuming they get somewhere past the halfway mark of the competition, who do you think will get the biggest career boost resulting from their Strictly experience?

I would say Danny Mac. Having left Hollyoaks two years ago, I don't know what he has been up to since but being on Strictly, I feel, will catapult him up the showbiz ladder. He already has the looks and was a mainstay for four years in theatre show Wicked! .I predict a big revival for him, both on TV and in the theatre and applaud his agent for getting him this brilliant opportunity to showcase himself.

What say you?

Yes, I think he could benefit greatly from this. Think back to Georgia last year, who also came out of a soap and as far as I know didn't have any work after that. Post - Strictly she has two stage shows and a TV comedy series in the pipeline, so Danny might possibly get similar opportunities.

A lot of the others will probably just go back to their day jobs, but maybe Naga will have some new roles in the BBC. I don't know how high profile Anita Rani was before Strictly, but she has since made some well received documentaries, is presenting on ITV This Morning, and is always popping up on panel programmes.

I think Laura could do well out of it. There's not a lot of potential Girl Next Door types in the cast, and if people take to her there's always room for likable young female presenters on tv. Danny could definitely capitalise as well, I can definitely see it bouncing him into another soap or any drama that needs a hunk (I don't think he was in Wicked for four years, although I know that's what his wikipedia page says. Based on the Wicked casting website he was 2nd understudy for one year, 1st understudy for another, and then left.)

Munchetty if she does well certainly to improve her standing in the BBC golden girls pecking order. Although I doubt she can surpress what seems to be a bit of a fiery temper for as long as she is in the show which may hinder her- remember Logan and Gallagher

I will add Ore into the mix.

Currently a BBC Breakfast sports presenter who gets a bit of other presenting work such as the Lottery show, he must have seen how well Chris Hollins got on post Strictly and must be hoping he gets some of his success.

I suppose Strictly will also help Melvin to continue to make his gradual transition from "a voice on the radio" to "a face on the TV", building on his stints on that recent game show (which, bizarrely is not listed in his imdb credits) and The Xtra Factor.

I agree - in the long run, I can even see Ore veering more into the 'performance' side of things...

I think this will (partially) depend on a) how they come across over the course of the show and b) at what point they leave it.

Sometimes I think Bloody Lulu was lucky to have a career before the show. If she was in the beginning of her career, she wouldn't have got away with that kind of behaviour.

Very lucky to rely on talent rather than celebrity.

I keep hearing about this Lulu thing but, to be honest, I still don't know exactly what she did...even though I watched that series (but was not a forum member then). Was it her attitude or was she just generally pee'd off after being paired with Brendan? I always thought they just didn't gel....as some couples don't. But why was her experience so standout?

Laura; she is up and coming and through Strictly (if edited/ shown in the best light) has by far the most to gain.

Laura Whitmore: She will certainly gain the most tabloid attention.

Strange isn't it but I thought Caroline Fax would have benefitted from being on Strictly, and then she went and won it, so double benefit. But she hasn't seemed to have benefitted at all.

I don't think it is as a ringer's singular 'benefit' of being on Strictly is to win it. It never does anything for them once the show's over...

Liked Pixie Phone better that series (lol)!

Yes agree with Danny Mac I've never heard of him but it sounds that he has a dance background and could be a potential finalist I think.

The former young soap stars can do well Tom Chambers, Kara Tointon etc

I suppose Strictly can give you exposure and opportunities, but you need to have the talent to build on them - it can't make you any better at your day job. Strictly probably helped Caroline get the X Factor job but she apparently wasn't a good enough presenter to keep it. I suppose she's still got Love Island, but I don't know if that counts as a benefit

I very much doubt that as she had one leg in the X Factor pond long before her victory when she presented Xtra Factor. She didn't exactly need the exposure of Strictly to practically walk down a flight of stairs to another part of the same studio. Simon probably only gave her that job to spite Strictly and block any possibility of them signing her up on a long term basis.

She had already been dumped from the Xtra Factor after the 2013 series and as far as I know Simon Cowell didn't show much interest in bringing her back until she had been on Strictly.

Precisely - he either signed her to block them or because he was absolutely desperate and went back to her with his tail between his legs...

We should all remember that Lulu is a Super Star and was treated very badly on the show, people should still be hanging their heads in shame

I cant remember Lulu being treated badly on the show but im open to my memory being jogged. From recollection she was less than complimentary to Brendan

I think basically the longer you are on the show, the better potential and let's be real 6 to 12 weeks on the Top rated show in the UK is a good thing

It's not like Celeb BB where you can walk in a hero and leave a villain

Note - GBBO might be the top rated but strictly is up there
