Good on Jenny for grassing up the gobshite, lazy workers at the factory trying to basically rip off Johnny and take advantage (even though the scenario came across really implausible).

But of course Corrie will make us think she is a villain and this is the start of darkness for the character, even though she did a good deed. And yet we are meant to feel sorry for the 'lovable' workers, examples being Fiz who years ago helped her killer husband conceal a dead body and steal from a dead old woman, and of course Izzy who recently assaulted a poor police officer and took drugs and did time in prison. Yeah, Jenny is the bad guy...

Anything at the factory makes me switch off. I caught all of 15 seconds of last night's episode and it involved a factory scene with the girls going on about 'overtime' and Mr Connor thanking them for helping to get an order out on time. This same scene has been repeated ad nauseam for the past 15 years at least.

It's utter garbage.

It's a shame that Jenny is being wasted in the factory. Didn't catch the rest of the episode but you're right that she will be treated like a leper by the other girls for grassing them up.

You haven't missed much. The factory lot come across like a bunch of young kids/teenagers whose teacher leaves the classroom and wants them to do their work, but they choose to muck around/ do their own thing. You wouldn't think they were in their 30s/40s the way they behave, not a single one comes across competent and apparently we are meant to be disappointed their scheme wasn't a success.

And a little bit off-topic, but Izzy being warned by Johnny not to get into trouble has been forgotten. From what I recall he gave her a warning not to fall into the wrong side of the law, which she did and even did a few weeks in prison. Never brought up, she is just back to normal. Awful stuff, but no doubt if she did get the sack we'd get cringe-worthy protest scenes for her reinstatement, as she is such a worthy worker.

Rant over for now.

In what world would that ever happen? A full shift of workers on overtime set up a big screen and a projector and then sit about watching a film whilst eating popcorn .... all on double pay!!

An absolutely bloody ridiculous story.

But you are right OP. Jenny was the only one there with any morals, yet she'll be the bad one at the end of the day.

Absolutely garbage story line, but let's not forget the machinists all drink in the Rovers at lunchtime then go back to work operating sewing machines!

I do like Jennie - since her second return, she's become her own. It was hilarious they were skiving and watching a movie, but she is right. They are being paid double-time and therefore should work to earn the cash. Having her as a machinist does bring her out more.

I don't like the majority of the factory "lot". The most nasty clique in the whole show - you're right about the maturity of them. Think back to the men of the past - and think of Kirk, Tyrone, Sean and Todd. But I think real life is the same - I'm certainly nothing like my Dad at 42. Not that I wear one - but can you picture your Father in a onesie playing computer games of an evening.
Back to Corrie - the factory used to be an interesting place to visit - left to right Elsie, Ivy, Vera, Ida - then Ivy, Vera, Ida, Shirley. They used to talk nonsense, but also the run-ins, strikes, walk-outs

Don't forget the interplay between the factory girls and the ruthless Mike Baldwin. There were also the 'inbetweeners' like Ernie Bishop, Steve Fisher and, later, Emily who flitted between the office and the shop floor.

Even the late 90s reincarnation of the factory as Underworld had strong characters such as Karen, Janice, Hayley and Linda Sykes.

The whole place is a joke now and every episode of factory-based nonsense just highlights the fact that it is an outdated and unbelievable location for the show to have in 2016.

I think she was a bit of a hypocrite. She snitched because she thought the rest of the employees were taking advantage of Johnny. Hasn't she taken advantage of him by seducing him in exchange for getting a job there? Doesn't she use company time to snog him in the closet?

I'm not saying I approve of them watching a film while they should have been working, but I don't think Jenny has done herself any favours here. I'm not going to go down the "snitches get stitches" route as I think it's silly mentality, but I suspect her actions had more to do with getting into Johnny's good books than feeling like her moral compass was askew if she didn't tell. 🙄

I like Jenny and agree the factory staff are childish and form an odd clique transparent on the screen.

Meh. I'm not saying Jenny is an angel, but honestly the factory lot have been acting like arses for years I am glad to see what is coming to them. I find most of them repulsive and unlikable.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

In the episodes I do watch I want Mike Baldwin to walk in and give them what for.

Jenny is the best factory girl. The only other one I like apart from Jenny is Sally.

That's understandable. But I think it will be inevitable that they'll find out who snitched and it will make working there a misery for her.

This storyline is so annoying why are the workers acting so enraged? They were watching a film when they were being paid double time. I don't think any job would allow this.

Hope they are all sacked and the factory closes down

As others have said, I also agree with the sentiment here. I'm amazed the factory crew ever get any contracts out on time at anything like a decent standard, the way they go on. All they're trying to do is the minimum amount of work for the most pay within the shortest possible hours .. extended tea breaks and people 'going out for cakes' are just some of the things I find ridiculous. They should be glad they've all got jobs and should just knuckle down and stop all the silly gabbing!

As for Jenny .. she's caught between a rock and a hard place at the moment, but I hope it all works out well for her. She's one of the more attractive girls in CS so I hope her character remains for a while.
