I think so too - I suspect we would have had J, Georgia, Anita and Helen (which would have been the right 4 in my opinion, although the final 4 that we got in the end all were justifiable also (Katie perhaps less so) so I don't think there was a huge wuzrobbed situation).

ETA - appear to have wandered off topic a bit - this is a spoiler thread for this year! Am looking forward to tonight.

I wonder if they asked the other celebs for a comment after Jay & Aliona's Jive.

Pressure!

Is any of tonight's show live or is it all pre-recorded?

Not that I can recall, but Tess did comment off-camera that she was disappointed not to see them reprise it in the final last year.

Spoiler
Last series was on fire, up until Musical's week when the series turned very sour. Anita's Argentine Tango was so poorly choreographed that the 6 from Craig was silly. I hated Kellie's Viennese Waltz and the 36! was way over the top. Anton's choreo for Katie's Foxtrot was very poor. That dance should have been 10s if Anton had actually bothered. Jay's Rumba was one of only 4 dances he excelled in (Tango, Jive and Charleston were the other three) all other of his dances were missing that wow factor for me. Georgia's Foxtrot was the other dance that came out of that week with any sense of dignity. All this put Helen in a dangerous place as she didn't help herself by over acting that paso to such a degree it was oddly comedic. She went home which was a sad moment as she was a victim of Anita justice voters (I was one of those), Jay voters. Who even 9 months later regard him the best dancer Strictly has ever seen (girl please, read your Strictly history books) more on this later. Kellie voters or Clifton voters. Trust me the Cliftons are adored on twitter.

On to the Semis (the worst show of the series). Katie was let down in the Waltz again by Anton. But TPTB already determined Anton (not Katie) must be in the final so she was always going to be saved in the DO regardless of opponent. Anita it was so their justifications were feesable luckily for them. Georgia was so bad at Cha-Cha-Cha it looked like a W1 dance (well she did have cooties or whatever here illness was ). The fact that I was denied an Argentine Tango was sad. Jay was terrible at Viennese Waltz and he blinking did drop Aliona in the Charleston. I ain't stupid. Kellie was the only dancer who came out this round with dignity.

Well the final was so bad. All 4 did pretty appalling in their first dance. All but Kevin poorly chorographed the Freestyle. Georgia and Kellie did well in their respected Charlestons but Jay and Aliona's arrogance about not doing the Jive did it for me and turned me off them permanently. That Paso was not even holding a torch to Anita yet gets 2 points more. Kellie's 40 for the Tango was ridiculous as the dance was not even choreographed to score a 40.

Which leads me on the Jay fans who have turned me off Jay even more. Evey poll he is in is voted in such numbers it is quite sad. I feel that they are in no mood to move on. Yes I stan Natalie but it does not cloud my opinion that there are things better out there. In fact I am already dreading the "Not as good as Jay" posts as there are quite a few dancers better than him in the past and there will be in the future. The sooner they accept that the better.

I am sorry if any remarks I have said have upset posters but I have become increasingly disgruntled and I want to clean the slate and move on to enjoy the series. This is my 14th go at the rodeo and I like entering every series like it is my first and then rank accordingly as I go. It is just how I watch the show. Yes I like being shady about the show. But it is because I love the show so much and every aspect of the show. I get fed up with stuff and that is because I know it can be far better. I hope tat the competition is very tight and stand out dances come from multiple sources.

I want this series' final to not have the winner predetermined and ALL the pros bring their A game.

So here it is to the new series. Hope it is a good one. I have had such personal pain since the end of last series that I need it to be good.

Was a good read, but what you have to remember that everyone has their own view on dances and dancers and there is always going to be disagreement as it is all a matter of taste and what appeals to the viewer, even judges disagree widely and why there is a complicated system applied when compiling judges marks in comps.

I had to learn early on whilst viewing the show that it is not a dancing competition as a dance professional it used to really bug me when imo the wrong results occurred a lot of the time - once i accepted the fact that the dancing is not the most important part of the show learnt to enjoy it again. I now bite my fingers on twitter or forums not to comment on some things especially on twitter where posters who because they have been viewing for years think they are 'experts' and post stuff so technically wrong

Imo the final last year was a bit lack lustre and cannot put my finger on why - I know it is widely expressed re Kevins tango last year that it was overmarked but you have to take it context to the marks given to the other finalists and out of all the finalists I still think it was the most improved dance from when it was first done and so had no problem with the mark (which never counted towards the result )

That was what was so pathetic about all the whinging on here and elsewhere about scoring on final night. It had no impact on result. Scores don't count. It was bizarre Jay won but his fans acted as though he'd lost because of what they saw as unfair scoring by judges of one of Kelly's dances. As I said earlier it was all about the inflated view of his brilliance and expectation not being fulfilled.

I didn't vote in final last year. Pointless. Just sat back and enjoyed the dances. They weren't the best and the sense of drama/anticipation wasn't there for the result but it brought season to close well enough.

Hello again everyone. I hope you are all well!

I didn't realise tonight's show was pre recorded. I just looked on DS to see what threads were already going for SCD 2016, and came across this one.

TERRIFIC!!!!!

Thanks so much for the advance info. I can't wait for the show tonight now .

ps Lesley & Anton were a foregone conclusion don't you think?

When did this turn from a spoiler thread to a dissing Jay's fans thread?

Thanks for that, Stig. I'm not going to be able to watch tonight, so I really appreciate you answering all our questions.
