That means everyone pays the same fees regardless of income, which isn't fair to the lower income sections of the society.

Yes, as above. All across-the-board government imposed fees are essentially a "stealth tax" on the public.

The idea of such stuff from the Conservatives is to facilitate tax cuts for the rich paid for by the many.

It's repressive on the economy for the majority to have less spending money... Not good.

Not necessarily. People have mentioned price rises, but it could also end up with reduced investment. e.g. Vodafone and O2's piss poor 3G rollout (the £billions paid for the spectrum wouldn't have helped that)

I'd rather see a decent network that fully takes advantage of slightly cheaper spectrum. If it's a good network, people will pay to use it, more income, more taxes paid to the government anyway = everyone wins

The radio spectrum is limited though, so making sure it's expensive also means companies won't sit on spectrum and will instead sell what they're not using, especially if it has more of an expensive yearly cost vs expensive upfront.

People can choose if they want EE 4G with 80Mb/s, which is much more expensive as it needs a lot more spectrum to run, that's part of what you're paying for by buying a more expensive service.
