The characters and level of professionalism of the agents seems to vary a lot.

Some seem reasonable and make an effort to calm the debtors and not needlessly inflame the situation. In contrast some are very obnoxious and arrogant and have a manner that just enrages the debtors even more.

That Scottish agent who is on the programme a lot seems a particularly arrogant and toxic individual, the whole way he conducts himself, including his mannerism and smug facial expressions is just thoroughly unpleasant and I'm not surprised many kick off with him.

I really don't get why programmes like this are so popular. In my opinion it is just pure negativity, and frankly once you've seen one case you've seen them all.

The show masquerades as social commentary, like many others in the genre, but really I think its main target audience is people who just enjoy watching aggro and aggression, not unlike Jeremy Kyle viewers in fact.
One of the problems this programme shows is the inconsistency in the way people are treated by the bailiffs.

These two with the Asian lady are very aggressive where as Paul and his mate are normally more gentle and even help people out if they can.

They also said they could do any deals, yet they are always doing deals with people, and often go away with nothing.

I agree that Paul Bohill and the other guy are by far the fairest and most decent of the lot, they don't behave arrogantly or like they are big men and I think most of the debtors respect them because of that.

In contrast that Scottish agent that is often on the programme is very different, he goes into every situation in the same aggressive and confrontational manner, has very smug mannerisms and facial expressions and clearly just winds up most debtors even more.

154 directorships!!!

No way should someone be allowed to hold that many directorships. It's got to be dodgy.

She pretty much gave it away as soon as she kept saying they couldn't take the car because it wasn't hers.

Conflict is popular. Some like seeing feckless deadbeats who think they can go through life not paying their bills get a knock from the bailiffs, some like siding with the debtors and booing at "the man"

It's funny because although this is one of those shows that is ALWAYS on TV on some channel no matter what the time, I have never seen the same episode twice.

And funny how Come Dine With Me is hardly ever on now. Maybe not so popular in benefits hating post Brexit UK?

His insurance would have been invalid if he was driving with false number plates on.

I would never purposely get into debt but what worries me is if someone else gets a debt and my address is used or mistakenly used by the bailiffs.

I've had letters from a debt company before for this address which wasn't my debt but thankfully due to shows like this I knew what to do to get them stopped.

youd show them your passport and proof that the person doesnt live there and there wont be an issue, its that simple

You can't show proof someone doesn't live there.

Stewart McCracken is a prick. I can picture him getting severely beaten for his irritating behaviour. Not a nice guy at all.

Paul's brilliant though and his partner to. Gets the job done in a decent, well mannered way and sometimes goes beyond the call of duty. Top man!

I do get the impression that Stewart McCracken relishes winding up the debtors and throwing his weight around a bit. Perhaps he was bullied at school or something?

There does seem to be a thing, ie a scam, where 2 directors are needed to set up a limited liability company, but then almost immediately the "bogus" 2nd director can resign and the company can still continue with just the one director. If there is a legal reason for requiring 2 directors, then surely that requirement is ongoing.

Paul Bohill only deals with evictions. He doesn't deal with debt collecting which will often require a different approach. With an eviction, once the High Court order has issued, nothing can be done, With debt there are all sorts of dodges, as this programme highlights.

Paul did one (debt collection) last year and seemed very out of his comfort zone. It was in a kebab take away place.

There are a few fathers and sons who work together. Steve Pinner and his son and now Delroy's son has come on board.

Elmor seems a little more aggressive this series. He used to be quite laid back.
