I do have to say that imo 17 had the best cast since 9.

Take out a couple of duds (Sam and Alex) cast wise it was superior to every civilian on C5 IMO of course.

BB2 has always been my favourite by a long, long way.
Followed by BB3, 5,1 and 6.
BB7 was the start of the decline for me and I gave up after BB8

BB7 is unbelievably overrated on this forum. Far too many housemates, and it REALLY dragged.

They ended up with the same number as the Marchant twins became 1 housemate.

Yes but if you count the number of individual people who entered........

I thought that too and then I watched a bit of 14 back. It's great and had a good cast but had stronger individuals but had more duds than 17 imo.

I still think bb14 is a better overall series though, bb17 had more crap tasks and twists

That's what let's 17 down..the tasks. But I really rated the case hence why it's 7th. With better tasks it would have been Top 5.

All Channel 5 seasons are let down by the tasks.

I know - I never said BB7 had the most housemates. They both had too many.

BB7 and BB8 were very similar to me - good series but too long, too many housemates, similar housemates, house next door/halfway house etc. Yet for some reason BB7 is loved on here and BB8 is hated.

Because BB7 started off really well and arguably ended well too. Psychologically, peoples' perception of quality is heavily influenced by first and last impressions, and far less by what happens in the middle. So BB7 is more highly regarded because BB8 didn't even have the benefit of starting or ending well, despite the former being almost equally as dull for long periods, with, as you say, rubbish twists and too many housemates. The drop in quality was the long middle act.

This is probably why people rate bb17 - massive Jasin/Lateysha twist near the end. Before this shock eviction, bb17 was almost universally derided on here for letting outsiders stay the night and moving so far away from the traditional bb format.

I's say BB7 started very well. It ended badly imo.

BB1 because it was new, exciting, innovative and real. Wouldn't hold interest now but I loved it.

I remember seeing Nasty Nick on the front page of all the newspapers and solemnly declaring he had 'ruined his life'. 😂

Nothing has ever come close to the excitement of BB1 for me. It was unlike anything we'd ever seen.

It's funny thinking back to them traipsing into the house single file carrying their suitcases without the pomp and ceremony we take for granted now.

I remember hearing it rumoured they were going to make this new programme and had my fingers crossed that they would. When it finally came about I was beyond excited.

Yes, it is proof that just because a series isn't filled with arguments, bitching, nastiness and controversy, it doesn't automatically mean that it's boring. It was such a fun, enjoyable series.

I used to say 7 but having watched the golden era of 5-7 back, I'd say 5. But 6 and 7 complete my top 3.

I completely agree here. I loved the first 2 weeks of 17 and quite a few did here but it then mid series was quite slated on here. It wasn't until Lateysha's shock eviction from Jason where the forum exploded to praise the series (and Jason) for being so ruthless.

Got to say the last 3 days of Annihilation was brilliant to watch and I think why a lot of people rate it among the best on 5 (that's not hard though !) along with great cast.

In retrospect after CBB I look back on the regular series with even more praise
