Is it just best to stay away until Sunday? (And deprive you of my eloquence and insight - it would be too cruel). Every thread I open seems to have SPOILER somewhere or another. I don't want to know the pairings What happens if someone blabs - does someone pick up on it and make that post a spoiler or what?

You have to alert the mods if it is too late to get the erring poster to edit their post.

Good Etiquette would be to ask them first to edit, so long as you think it is a genuine slip.

Also maybe post here to alert people that a thread contains a potential spoiler (obviously do not copy spoiler into this thread).

I don't understand why people don't just stick to the spoiler thread.

Sometimes people just forget and say things (when commenting on something else) from which a spoiler can be inferred.

It certainly would be too cruel

I think you'll be given an inkling about some pairings though.

Obviously avoid the spoiler thread if you don't want to know pairings - or results once the show has started.

But if you really don't want to know, then best to avoid tabloid newspapers and Sky News, etc., which have been known to leak Saturday night results before the results show is aired!

The Non-App thread is resolutely spoiler free

This is a very enjoyable telly programme. I watch it (or mostly record it) every year, I really don't mind knowing in advance who is paired with whom, I mean does it really matter? You can bet it's no surprise to the participants at the "reveal" on the night. It's TV for cryin' out loud.

Now if we were to know the winners in advance, that might be a disappointment worth moaning about.

And the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2016 is * pause, drumroll, pause, pause, pause....*

I cannot commend this post enough. If anyone posts spoilers (or hints at a spoiler) outside the relevant threads, this is the best way to sort it.

All of us spoiler fans rely on people keeping a weather eye out on other threads to nip those slip ups in the bud ASAP.

Maybe you would be better walking around with blinkers and earmuffs on, because it will be all over the papers as well as on certain threads on here - and i'm sure other forums too.

Are you not at least one bit curious?
Or maybe it's me who gives in to temptation far too easily

Very curious indeed but that's why I enjoy the show so much because I like the build up! I don't think it's just you though, I seem to be in a minority

because some people just cant follow forum etiquette and like to blab where they are not meant to

just press the "alert" button under the offending post and alert the mods - they will then *hopefully* deal with it

You might want to avoid the thread about Anastacia for now.

I'm curious but to be honest it would ruin the launch show for me if I knew as that's the main fun in it! I think I'm going to have to stay off this forum until tomorrow night now, as I've already found out 2 pairings by accident and don't really want anymore!

Also the "Which pros do you want to win" thread.

I'm so sorry. I plead guilty in propagating a spoiler in the Anastacia thread. I've never done this before and just didn't think when replying. So apologies everyone. (I can't apologise enough)

It happens. It's difficult - especially when there is such a length of time between the actual event and the reveal. My friend knows the couples and she, to the best of my knowledge <looks round for someone looking shifty> dosen't 'do' DS at all.

Yes, I've alerted both mine and the post I was replying to as suggested.
