This racism scandal thing is starting to wind me up!!
Just been looking through a few articles about it & came up with this guy trying to explain why it was offensive:

I would like if I may to quote the following:
"Having a white character say 'I have more roots than Kunta Kinte' is somewhat insensitive to the history of oppression and the fact he was a slave. The white person was always seen as the slave owner!!"
Well I'm sorry but in this day and age I find that comment, or the inference behind it a hundred times more offensive than a perfectly innocent play on words!!
I am not about to squeal & complain about it, as it in itself was not purposely written to be offensive any more than the Corrie quip was but it does prove two things to me!
a) You can see racism in anything if you look for it
b) We are supposed to accept that racism is a one way highway & anyone complaining of 'reverse racism' would I have no doubt be laughed off the planet!!
