I'm not sure if there's been a thread on this, and if there is, I apologise, but I've not seen one.

I was reading through the EE Cast Lists for Paul's funeral, and noticed that his name is actually on the cast list for 8th September 2016 (the funeral), above Pam and Les. I've not seen anything mentioned, but does anybody know if he's a ghost/flashback etc?

Maybe he was embalmed?? People who have been murdered and it's an ongoing investigation, they can go months, even a year in a mortuary before being laid to rest.

I think Mortuary fridges are colder than one you'd have in your kitchen - though obviously not below freezing level. If you've ever visited somebody in a chapel of rest, even the rooms are quite cold and the corpse very much so. Also, embalming, if they do that, will stall the decomposition process.

If you think about it, in murder cases, the Police often have to hold onto the body for months before they can release it and they don't "go off"

Yes, it is just his body that they are showing. If you recall, we saw Lucy's the night before her funeral (which was also a couple of months after her death) as Peter stayed in the Chapel of rest with her.
