He probably only got the part because of his time on Britains got talent. It couldn't be because of his acting skills because clearly he hasn't got any.

Absolutely not. Not all teens want to have sex before they reach 16, have issues or talk like he does. I found the storyline irksome and indeed the character. Then again I find most teens in soaps to be irksome.
