EE Grant Death Theory
Mr Patrick
01-09-2016
I was reading an article on The Sun and it was how Grant leaves there saying that Grant dies next week and donate his liver to phil. I hope this isn't true because he is my second favorite after Peggy

This would be two of my favorites killed off in less then six months

What do you all think

PS This is only a Theory its not a spoiler so don't send out a backlash

To be honest if Grant leaves in a way it's good for the show we need to make new classics. I especially want the Kazemi's to expand and become a bigger role in the show.

There is no point to it, Grant won't be killed off.

Just saying like.

They are just reporting on speculation from sites such as this.

I'll say what i have when all these theories have surfaced about Peggy and Paul dying - there is no way for the cadaver donor (or his family) to decide who gets their organs. Even if Grant were conscious before being operated on, and said something like "if I don't survive this, i want my brother to have my liver" it would carry no legal wieght and would be considered unethical by the Transplant Teams involved. His liver would go to the person at the top of the Oragan waiting list that was the same blood and tissue type as him. Phil isn't even on the list yet as he needs to be sober for 6 months before going on it.

Only living donors can dictate who gets their organs and living Liver Lobe donation is now very rare and appears not to have been discussed with Phll at all.

God, that would be tragic!

They've already killed off enough iconic characters as it is.

I'm actually starting to wonder if it will be Phil killed off.

This might actually be the swan song for the Mitchell brothers. Phil dies, Grant leaves. They're putting a lot of focus on Jay and Ben and Sharon as the new Ma Mitchell. Phil has fast become a spare part.

The only thing that makes me doubt it is the Denise baby storyline, as I'm not quite sure where they're going with that.

I don't think Phil dies anytime soon as Steve McFadden is in the cast list for the following week - W/C 12th September. However Ross Kemp isn't in the cast so it looks like Grant will be leaving probably on Friday 9th September. Whether he's got more scenes coming up from his 3 week stint I'm not sure sadly.

Yea very good point. Very unlikely Grant will be killed off. He will probably leave but stay in the UK and move up north (Manchester) as he previously said he lost his home in Portugal due to debt issues and doesn't have the money to return back.

Unless Phil pays him the money he owes him and he uses this to re-build his life in Portugal perhaps maybe.

Grant will only be killed off Ross decides to put an end to the character once and for all. Personally I just don't see it happening but I also don't see him ever returning full time.

Indeed and i accept artistic license and that it is not 'real' but i do think some things are too important to mess with the facts and organ donation is one of them.

There is such a shortage of organs, people die every day waiting for Transplants and part of the reason for that is people not signing onto the Register or relatives blocking those that have after death due to Myths about what can and can't happen.

There are very strict rules in place to ensure the system is as fair and untraumatic as possible for everybody involved and I think Soaps have a responsibility to reflect that.

I highly doubt Eastenders would disregard the reality around transplants.

To be fair to them they're usually pretty good at portraying these kinds of issues.

Yes and it's been pretty realistic with regards Phil so I doubt that will change although I'm not sure where they're going with the storyline.

With Mark Jnr only being a guest character I've always assumed that Grant will travel to America to get to know his son leaving Courtney in London.

Yes I'm intrigued where EE are going with this storyline. Surely if they were going to kill Phil Mitchell off it would have probably been revealed by now. But there is that possibility they may kill Phil off completely out of the blue as a shocking twist. This could be the longer term plan maybe.

Phil is clearly in a bad way at the moment so I would have thought we may be nearing the end of the storyline resulting in Phil getting a transplant or being killed off before Christmas. Although I'm sure I read somewhere Phil needs to be sober for 6 months which works out as being around November time.

I stand the same on Phil.

They aren't going anywhere no way are they destroying the Michell Brothers by having one of them die, there is always something to do with them and the delight of knowing something might happen one day with them.

I agree that they've portrayed Phil's worsening condition, and what it takes to get onto the Transplant list quite accurately so far so I think that they will continue to do so and this speculation is purely that, speculation from fans who are just thinking about the drama rather than reality of Transplant Procedures.
