Hello all,

I have a hudl 2 and lately when we plug it in to charge it lights up for a few seconds and the welcome screen comes on and then the light goes off and thats it.

Phoned up the helpline and they just said to hold down a few buttons and turn on etc...that did not work. I am thinking of buying a new battery, maybe that would help? Only had it for a few months.

I have read many things on google with many others with the same problems, no one seems to have any idea how to fix it. I have changed the charging port to no avail. SO thinking of just buying a new tablet, so wondering if anyone can recommend a good reliable alternative, something that does similar things. Basically just being able to use he internet and take photos, have a few apps on it. Something under £100.00. Any links to amazon or ebay would be great.

Of course if anyone has any solutions to fix this one, please let me know also.

Thanks all in advance.

I teach android and I've seen this a couple of times... It's probably a dead screen or faulty motherboard / charge circuit and wouldn't be worth repairing. A kindle fire or perhaps an 8" Samsung If you can get a good deal on one.

P.s. had a look and Argos are doing a Samsung 7" tab A for £119 if you could stretch to that. I have a Samsung tab S2 9.7" and I would recommend them.

Thanks for the replies.

Are there any others that anyone can recommend that are cheaper? All we need it to do is just the internet and some apps and photos?

For instance, what is the difference between this one

and

and

and

and the one you mentioned?

Alba stuff is generally low quality. You might be lucky but I wouldn't bank on it.

If you have only had it for a few months it will be under warranty.

Tesco stopped selling the Hudl 2 in May 2016. Yes, it might be under warranty, but they will probably give the OP a refund.

I'd probably go for the last one on your list the Lenovo one. They are a good brand.

Well my hudl has for some reason began to work again for some reason?

I am worried that if I put the memory card back in that it may stop working again. Is it possible that if something is wrong with the memory ie if the memory stick is corrupted or has a virus that it could damage the tablet.

The same cable that was used to charge it which I used when it stopped charging is the same cable I am using now that its working again. So it cant be the charger, I have no idea why it stopped working and now its working again. I called customer services and they said it could have been a virus, or memory overload or corruption on the tablet. SO I am worried about putting back in the memory card now incase something on that caused it to stop working as its was terrible trying to get it working again.
