Not bad but I always get annoyed when performers deliberately damage or smash props that have been hired or even borrowed for the programme. Shows them as having too high an opinion of their own importance. I have been involved in a friend hiring items for use in TV productions and always advised him to have something in the contract to they have to have a very high payment for anything damaged.
I was really disappointed when Lee smashed the bike u, thought of how some little girl would have loved it, no need for it, he's funny without resorting to that

![]() Thought he'd jumped up and down on the bike and bent the frame or something 'smashed' Talk about exaggerate over a £50 bike, he threw it to the ground and the wheel came off, simply bolt it back on. You probably want to stay away from your council's public waste centre, lots of usable bikes dumped. |

Excellent episode. I bet it was even better pre-edit. They must really struggle to get it down to 30 minutes.

It was just needless damage, even though he could easily afford to pay for a replacement (I doubt whether he will though). Perhaps not of great importance but I have a much lower opinion of him now. |

I do love this programme so much.
Was disappointed at the trashing of the bike though. |

Wow some of you are being incredibly judgemental and holier-than-thou just because Lee tipped over a bike.
It's not like the bike was then rendered totally useless and forever broken. Plus how do you know for sure that that bike 100% belongs to someone and "big, bad monster Lee" just ruined that persons happiness? The show probably bought the bike themselves for use in the round, it's not like those bikes are particularly expensive. Get a grip, stop making assumptions over Lee's character just because you're presuming things about ownership of a bike. |

Get a grip? lol
Regardless of whether it belonged to someone or not, it was a nice little bike that someone could have either had back or had as a gift. We are all entitled to our thoughts, you know, and the way people behave does colour our judgement of them. I love Lee Mack, but I'd rather he hadn't done that. |

It was just symptomatic of a certain type of performer who have no respect for props and like to damage to show their own importance. We don't know, they could have hired it and in which case would end up replacing it. They could even have borrowed from someone.

I'm on about this specific incident it was clearly a new bike, probably bought from Argos or similar for £50. The way many companies work it'll probably end up skipped anyway, as a matter of policy not to have staff 'profit' from it. He threw it about because it was funny, others found it funny, you didn't, hey ho. |

He threw it to the ground, the wheel popped off, simply bolt the wheel back on, don't try and make mileage out of that. It seems you, like others on here have never ridden a bike crashed it or seen one crashed. Simply bolt the wheel back on, the end. Go to your local BMX track if you don't believe us, you'll see bikes sometimes thrown by their owners in anger, when they can't complete a trick, pick bike up straighten handle bars and seat, ride on. As I said in my other post, it might well be policy for this to end up in the skip anyway, to stop staff buying in items they'd like then taking them home when the company has finished with them. Marketing departments and missing 'samples' been the prime example everyone should know about. |

To be fair, Rob rode on it after Lee did that so it was obviously fine! And then so did Lee. It wasn't like he threw it across the studio floor.
Thoroughly enjoyed the show. I agree with everyone who says the Lee/David/Rob friendship and chemistry make the show. Their banter is great!

Y'all are making sweeping generalizations about Lee just because a wheel popped off a childrens bike. One that may I add, both Rob and Lee rode *after* the incident, so clearly there was no issue at all. Talk about making mountains out of molehills ffs. |

I haven't made any sweeping generalisations if you care to read what I've actually said.
Unsubscribing from this thread until next week when hopefully this way out of proportion bickering has stopped. |

Although they were laughing their heads off I found it a bit childish. |

I can't believe that I'm reading all this rubbish about a fairy bike! Lee's action was all part of a very funny show and IMO it did not diminish his status one iota!

This conversation about the bike is hilarious. Donate £30 to charity in protest of a Chinese made bicycle being slightly damaged as you bin all of your expired food for the week.

The reason I got so annoyed with these comments is because people are letting one of the funniest shows on TV be ruined for themselves because "OH NO A £30 BIKE THAT THE BBC PROBABLY HAD LYING AROUND WAS PUSHED ON THE GROUND". It's ridiculous. Why are people being so sensitive? It was clearly done out of humour to exaggerate the frustration Lee Mack has with being set the task of trying to make the most ludicrous lies seem true. |

![]() But I agree with you, people are being ridiculously sensitive about the bloomin' bike . Maybe it is over-sensitive, but I did cringe when Lee threw it on the floor and the wheel came off. Some of us just don't like needless destruction. How is it funny in any way? Even apart from that, I thought this was a bit of a poor episode. I can't even remember most of it, and none of the guests were up to much imo. A disappointment after last week's brilliance, but I suppose Bob can't be on it all the time. |

The incident with the bike ruined the whole episode for me, it was similar to Pete Townsend smashing up his guitars on stage, guitars I feel, that are owned by the same little girl who's bike got smashed into pieces. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch the show again.
The BBC should order Lee Mack to bring in one of his own child's toys then smash it in front of that child, just like Mack did to that poor child, who probably doesn't exist. Typical BBC. |

Well this is the same Lee Mack who made his baby girl cry on camera by playing her Ultravox and then allowed it to be shown on WILTY. Terrible man. Terrible man. Terrible terrible terrible man. (Sorry, been on a Vic and Bob binge!)
And he snapped David's pen. The guy is a menace!!! |
