A new TV series based on William Peter Blatty's novel "The Exorcist" starts on Fox on the 23rd September. Looks promising. Trailer is here:

It'll be pretty tame being on a mainstream channel.

Well, they've kept Tubular Bells for the theme tune, so I'm happy!

It looks good. I just wonder how it will work out long term if successful. Lovely seeing Geena Davis bagging more work though, as she took several years out to be a mother.

Hopefully it will be nothing at all like American Horror Story.

Was just about to say the exact same thing! As a massive fan of horror who should be the biggest fan of a horror anthology series, AHS is by far the worst, most overrated thing on television.

Trailer looks good, can't see Geena Davis signing up for a teen show like American Horror Story.

Interesting channel for a show like The Exorcist to launch on - SyFy UK. Who'd think we'd be seeing it there.....strange choice. I'll give it a shot. Think it premieres sometime in October.

Strange thing to say. American Horror Story stars actors such as Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Chloe Sevigny, Sara Paulson, Frances Conroy... hardly a 'teen' show.

What I meant was in relation the target audience it seems to play to IMO, not meaning the cast.

Hope this show does well. Syfy are utter balls now, last decent show they has what? Battlestar Galactica?!

Watched it last night i enjoyed it, it certainly has potential to be a great show but i think it will only be a one season wonder as i can't see how they can spread it over a number of seasons.

Very good first episode, extremely creepy in parts. One of the best shows of the new season for me.

I thought the twist was good too. It hasn't totally grabbed me yet, but I will watch the next episode.

Atmospheric first episode but with an ominous air. Loved the links to the film and the scene in the attic. For those with a knowledge of the making of the film having the spiderwalk was a nice touch. I shall continue to watch.

Loving this series, watch the first two episodes yesterday, it certainly made me jump in parts, especially the scene where the crow crashed through the window and ended up slitting its own throat.

It was quite good. Suitably scary in places. Especially the scene in the attic.
