Game of Thrones: Season Seven Thread (spoilers in tags)
Seeing as Season 7 has just started shooting in Belfast, I was thinking it would be the perfect time to start a thread where theories, speculation, updates and (sigh, eventually) episode discussion could be posted. I'll inevitably get the "it's far too early for this thread" responses from some people, but let's get the ball rolling!
Great to see the continuing tradition of casting legendary thespians, with the news that Jim Broadbent will be following in the footsteps of Diana Rigg, Charles Dance, Richard E Grant and Ian McShane. I can't wait to see all the story threads collide. Whilst I loved Season 6, there was sometimes the sense that storylines had splintered off in too many different directions. It's great to see all of the arcs now converge as all eyes will be on King's Landing, with the emergence of several alliances and promise of some epic battle scenes. |

Kit is still busy shooting his movie so I don't think Jon will feature in the first couple of episodes but I suppose if the early eps are all centred around Dany's assault of Kings Landing we may not see events in the North until episode 3. That would cover his absence.
I think Jaime and Cersei will die in the final episode of season 7 in a Romeo and Juliet type way. Also I have an awful feeling The Mountain might kill one of the smaller dragons! And to state the obvious, Jon and Dany will meet and fall in love. |

There's speculation that Angela Lansbury is in talks for a guest role. I can't quite see it happening but it would be amazing if it were true!

Angela Lansbury would be one of the last people I would of expected in Game Of Thrones. Largely because she does tons of theatre. But if she is, how exciting and fantastic. There is much more to her than the innocent kind characters she is best known for from Murder She Wrote and Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

No-one in the cast will be safe with Jessica Fletcher in Westeros!
![]() ![]() Angela Lansbury would be an incredible casting coup for the show. What is her health like these days? She'll be 91 next month, so I can't imagine that she'd be up for any intensive kind of shooting schedules.

Angela still does tons of theatre. Many of which is musicals. Which isn't a walk in the park. She's a very active and busy woman for someone of her age. You don't see many 90 year olds still doing eight shows a week for several months of the year like she does.

The only place I cn see nw characters being added is OldTown - where the Maesters learn
Jim Broadbent as the ArchMaester? No idea where Jessica Fletcher would fit in |

People assume she will play a Lady type figure but what if she is playing an old hag type woman in the woods who houses Cersei if Cersei is forced to flee Kings Landing. I think something like that will be on the cards because I think some how The Hound and The Mountain are going to bump into each other and that happening while The Mountain is fleeing with Cersei sounds plausible. Esp if they head north so maybe Angela's character could fit in somewhere with that.
Maybe she could even be the witch who told Cersei her future when she was a kid. Lots of possiblities. |

Angela Landsbury would be all my dreams coming at once. She is a legend and class act.
Would love her in any scene. Hopefully she is just as fabulous as Diana Rigg <333 |

A Lady would be a more obvious choice since it could be set in the studio (most of the peasant scenes were on location - the ones the Hound and Arya met, Ian MacShane, the Northerner Jon and the Wildlings killed) Having her play an older Maegy the Frog is an interesting idea, though Assuming she going to do it, of course |

Does Lady Olenna have any sisters? I could see them putting the two Dames together if Angela is in talks.

You know they don't film scenes in the order they will finally appear in, don't you?
If the actor isn't available, it's likely they won't be in that week's episode |

They don't but one director takes charge of each episode
If the actor isn't available, it's likely they won't be in that week's episode An actor can't simply not appear in an episode due to not being available because that isn't how it works. Because you are under a contract. Someone like Lena Headey can't say "sorry, i can't do episode 5 because i need to go to a different country and film a big future blockbuster". Any other working commitments are worked around before and after. |

If it's not June then it's probably July though a late May start is possible I suppose. The show is certainly missing out on Emmy nomination in 2017 though as the rules state that at least 6 episodes must air before the end of May. |

Didn't know that. I wouldn't be at all surprised if HBO push the launch date forward. Truthfully I believe this late start nonsense is because they wanted to avoid a Twin Peaks clash so it will all hinder on how that show does imho.

Is Twin Peaks really gonna be much competition for a ratings juggernaut like GoT? I just don't see Twin Peaks having the mainstream appeal that GoT possesses.

Bits of episodes get moved to other episodes. In the commentaries you get directors and writers saying they didn't actually do this bit.
