I would choose a full HD set...the picture seems sharper to me.
Don't forget, to receive freeview HD channels directly on the tv, the tv must have the "freeview HD" logo, not just the plain freeview logo. Not sure if this affects you (u might only use sky), but apart from a sharper picture, at some point most of not all freeview channels need to adopt the freeview HD format (it's a more efficient way to cram in channels to a shrinking broadcast spectrum which keeps having chunks sold off for mobile phone use).
The number of available freeview HD channels is dependent on which transmitter u use (they are not all the same), but nonetheless this number will rise as the move from SD to HD happens.
