Not at all. Very sensible, I'd say.
He mentioned, months ago, that he was learning Russian. Her English doesn't sound great so what a good idea to pair them.
You have such a suspicious mind. 😋
Too much Big Brother!

This Neil I asked about... He seems really good so it's a shame he's in the background (though important choreographer)
The pro's get the exposure and some don't impress me...Giovanni for one.

Jay's got a bit chubby, hasn't he?

I enjoyed the launch show. If it hadn't been for the (ahem) vocalists I would have given it 95% satisfaction rating. Maybe more.

But there wasn't much singing going on. It's a good thing I'm going deaf.

The bloke tried to sing at the same time as doing something else. A mistake. Not much of a multi-tasker.

Should be a good series.

No Ola. No Kristina. No James. Excellent start.

I'm going to commit Strictly blasphemy here... I preferred their Tango.
Agree totally

I preferred their Tango, AT, Paso and Rumba.

I still think the Jive is stupendous and the best one ever on the show but a huge part of its appeal was the "WTF just happened in week 3?" angle.

I was happy they didn't do it for the final and I actually wish they'd done any of the above dances over the Jive last night, but I think Strictly was determined to get that Jive again.

Didn't like the styling or odd camera angles for the spins on last nights version

So Rinder has been learning Russian and gets the new Russian dancer, suspicious.
But she's not Russian she is Ukrainian and just happens to speak Russian. Most Ukrainians I have met actually don't like speaking Russian unless they have to and who could blame them.

Well Ola always danced as if she was swallowing a lemon... I'm so glad she isn't in it anymore..it will be so much nicer without her.
And just like that I change my mind for an indulgent round of pancakes with lemon and sugar! But yeah so right and for a couple so apparently disgusted with how the BBC treated them, they seemed to spend a lot of their time last night judging the pairings with their tweet-along.

I have long since blocked her odious husband so her tweets seemed ok

I enjoyed the show, even though Strictly kinda makes me feel Christmas is coming

I like this batch of celebs and I'm really looking forward to the series.

Louise: Shame she's with Kevin, I don't know why but I can't warm to him and he should have had a dud - saying that I'm not sure that Louise is going to relax in the show and I think she may not last long.

Naga: Looks promising. Be interested to see how she throws herself into it.

Daisy: Seemed awkward and I don't think she will last long.

Lesley: I think she'll be better than people think and will throw herself into it.

Claudia: Due to her age, I'm not sure we'll see much personality and that may be her undoing

Tameka: Love Tameka BUT she needs to stop her "look at me" face. She kept pulling it last night, especially in the group dance - like "Look at me, I'm dancing, look. look!"

Laura: She'll do well. May be the winner

Anastacia: Loved her, Hope she does well.

Ore: A good mover from what I saw. Hope she does well

Melvin: I like him a lot but think he will struggle

Greg will give it his all but I think he'll just be gangly and a lot of limbs everywhere

Judge Rinder: I warmed to him a lot. Looking forward to seeing more

Will: Will be good but I find him a bit wet

Ed: Oh dear!

Danny: I think he will start weak but will improve and I love Oti!

I think that Daisy is too tall for her partner, maybe she will wear flatter shoes over all not bad though

I'm just delighted that SCD is back! Yes, the opening was a tad unnecessary, yes, I turned the volume down immediately the 2 vocalists started (gotten wise to live singing over the years, resident vocalists excepted). Recorded the show, as ever, so if everyone raved I could go back and listen safely

Overall, pretty impressed with the celebs, tho having NOT noticed (or known ofJay) in the launch show, I'm happy to sit back and not choose my faves until I've seen them do a couple of dances with their pro.

Roll on 3 weeks time! 👍

Try using TunnelBear - can use it free and if you tweet them they give you an extra GB. It was a godsend for me when I tootled off to the Us for a tournament half way using the Olympics. NBC coverage of Rio was utterly shameful and a mate in the US suggested it to me and it it fab!
