Strictly's West End Secrets....

StrictlyRed kindly suggested I might be better to post this here

It's a revelation to see just how many links there are between Strictly and West End Theatre. I'm sure people will point out where I've made a mistake (although being a bit of a Strictly Uberfan I've tried not to!!)

It's every SCD celeb, pro, judge and presenter and what they've done in the West End before, during or after appearing on the show. Odd how celebs from series 3 & 11 are the anomaly?

You could add Darren and Lilia - they had a West End show (Latin Fever) in 2009, and they were in Strictly Gershwin with the English National Ballet in 2012.

That's great...I didn't know that I'll get on the case and update the post first thing xx

Considering how many of them earn their crust as actors, is it really a surprise that they have West End experience?

Danny Mac was in Wicked before he joined Hollyoaks.
He has also just finished the touring production of Legally Blonde

I did wonder if there was a strictly connection when both Pixie and Georgia were cast in Breakfast at Tiffany's, especially after Craig was gushing about how he'd hire Georgia for the west end. I guess everyone knows everyone DAHLING in that world.
Bruno working with Steve Coogan though, oh wil there be an Alan Patridge musical?

Georgia has been signed up for the Rocky Horror Show after BAT which is good news for her. Is Craig anything to do with it do you know?

After a quick check, I don't think he is anything to do with that particular show.

Though perhaps CRH did put her name forward to a few people after Strictly. I remember her saying that she got the call about BAT whilst she was on tour with Strictly so it came about fairly quickly, so perhaps Craig did have something to do with it.

It's not really surprising given the dance element which exists in pretty much most West End shows that they'd pull from people who've had stage school training.

Regarding:
Quote:
“Judge Arlene Phillips was a member of Hot Gossip, a dance troupe who backed Sarah Brightman in I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trouper”

Arlene was the founder of Hot Gossip, created while she was a dance teacher at Pineapple Dance Studios

Regarding Series 3 and 11, Fiona Fullerton was the female lead in Camelot in the early 80s at the Apollo Victoria (where Wicked is now playing) and Mark, Patsy and Patrick have all done plays in the West End. Patsy was also in Joseph in the West End as a chorus member when she was a kid.
