Strictly is featured in Gogglebox this week, and from a tweet I saw earlier, it could be Laura that they are discussing.

I so hope Laura does well this week, she's my favourite. What do people think going by training on ITT? (I'm not a dancer)

No sneak peek of her ballroom dress, Laura's was the one I wanted to see most! |

Laura has lovely posture, she looked really elegant in the clip. Her lines will be beautiful. I think the connection between them will be there too so if she nails the footwork and spins could be really special.

I wonder if Laura and Daisy (as friends prior to the show) have come in with an element of friendly rivalry between them? Sorry, off on a tangent there! |

You could stick her in Alison Hammond's explosion-at-the-textile factory American Smooth dress, and Laura would still make it look stunning!

The ITT clips today and yesterday of Laura seem to cut together footage from last week and this week. Its quite hard to sort out which is which but overall looking good. In the Week 2 Waltz Gio did last year with Georgia, she had problems closing her feet and missed all her heel leads, as Len pointed out. Laura is in much, much better shape from the snippets shown. BUT it is a very very tough season. Louise and also Danny (both trained dancers of course), based on ITT clips, will also be showing some super ballroom this week.

Rather odd Sun article.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbi...ovanni-pernice Worth a read - in my opinion it is more interesting in thinking about who is trying to benefit from this type of article. In my view - it didn't come from Laura. |

Totally agree that Laura and Giovanni could very much do without it and have done nothing to inspire the Sun to get out the shovels. Very, very unfair to them both.

This story is going to run and run. God knows what they'll be saying when it gets to rumba week (should they get there ... hope they will.) It's so frustrating for them both and unfair ... everyone else is being judged solely on their dancing.
Hope Laura can combat her nerves and give a graceful performance. They look great in rehearsals. A few tiny mishaps but I expect that was early days. Looking forward to seeing Laura's dress. She has impeccable taste so hopefully she'll have had a say in it! She couldn't ever look bad though ... I don't believe even Vicky could manage it. |

Everyone knows the press will pick up on social media and the cynical bitch in me can't help but assume everyone involved knows this, if people really wanted to be private they would be. Posting stuff on social media is essentially tabloid bait. These 'horrible' stories usually mention people's appearances in say oo I don't know regional theatre productions and popular Saturday night TV shows...some agents/publicist types somewhere are rubbing their hands with glee 🤑🤑🤑

This is an Appreciation thread for Laura & Gio and their dance partnership. Speculation about this article isn't constructive.

Laura and Giovanni are ignoring such stuff and behaving as normal, and that's the right thing to do. |

But it's 'constructive' to overanalyse everything in the other thread?
The obvious forum bias is starting to grate on me tbqh. It's apparently fine to insinuate all sorts about Gio and his behaviour on social media, and to a lesser degree Laura, but god forbid anyone criticise saint Georgia! Apparently it's ok to have pages of wild speculation on some liked photos on Instagram from which people will extrapolate detailed theories about the private lives of strangers but we can't speculate with short pithy comments on articles that do the same because they're not very positive? 🙄 |

I want this space to be here to appreciate Laura & Gio, their dances, ITT and other appearances over the next three months.
Discussion of other threads may get this one closed which would be a real shame. |

Laura and Giovanni are ignoring such stuff and behaving as normal, and that's the right thing to do. ![]() Soon as Laura was paired with Giovanni we all knew the paps would be all over it. Grossly unfair to Laura (and to GG) as she doesn't need all this tainting her Strictly journey ![]() Saw her and Gio on ITT last night and I think she will be much better at ballroom than latin, she was looking good ![]() Quote:

Laura and Giovanni are ignoring such stuff and behaving as normal, and that's the right thing to do. But I actually think that they are doing rather less to promote their partnership - maybe because of the worry about the tabloids trying to find a showmance angle if they are photographed less than a mile apart. I mean, Ore and Joanne have been done a few radio and TV interviews? Greg and Nat - and other Strictly dance partners IIRC - turned up at a movie premiere? Lesley and Anton have turned up on Loose Women etc etc. So I am not sure if Laura and Gio are behaving as 'normal' at the moment - if normal means feeling able to make joint appearances to discuss Strictly without taking endless tabloid flack. Which is very much a shame as it feels a bit more important this year to be 'visible' with such big personalities - and excellent dancers - in the show. |

I thought they appeared very at ease with each other on the main show last week and had great chemistry on the dancefloor. Can't wait for their interview on ITT tonight though as that's where you can really get to know the celebs and pros and guage the true nature of their partnership. |
