BIB 2: Do you post on the not-an-appreciation-thread thread? I think it could use your kind of sharp not-appreciating. (It seems to often devolve into inane "can I just unappreciate this spot of damp weather" or twee talk of drinks and snacks.)”

I don't much but I shall take a lol at it more often !

Here's Laura in her divine dress the moment before stepping on to the dancefloor.

No I wasn't able to travel to see them unfortunately but have tickets booked to see both Aljaz and Janette on their Remembering Fred tour and Brendan on his tour next year so am excited about those.

Would dearly like to watch Joanne in Thoroughly Modern Millie too and know my daughter would love it so going to look at dates, think there's more to be announced.

Wonder if Giovanni will do the Strictly tour (without Laura as she's touring with her play in the New Year) and/or maybe join Kevin and Karen on their tour.”

I was lucky enough to see all of Vincent and Flavia's show and it's such a shame there won't be any more, but I'm sure Aljaz/Janette and Brendan's shows will be great

I hope Giovanni does the Strictly tour and I'd love to see him in a dance show with Joanne but it looks unlikely now

Their partnership is clearly much stronger now. Laura said in the glamour interview that they bonded on their Sunday outing I think so I assume she meant the o2 outing.

I usually groan at those non-training videos but the O2 climb was an exception. You could see in their faces that getting up there, up into the air, was a real experience for them. Probably made them more natural together

How do they both manage to look good in those 02 jumpsuits?

If no one else is available I think Gio should tour with Mick. If that cheating stunt double dog can win Britain's got talent....

BIB - Amazing, some people make it look easy.

As for Gio and Mick, I think it will never happen. Apparently the pic of Mick on Gio's
lap is what was the cause of ........... I am not saying anything else, really sad.

I think we might have to open a talent agency and hire the guy.

Just popping in to say I loved Laura's and Gio's Waltz last night definitely one of my favourites.

Waltz was very elegant. I have seen a couple of people (looking at you Brendan Cole) comment on lack of travel across the floor. I think Gio choreographed that one very much for the camera - and it was cleverly put together to showcase Laura's strengths (flexibility, graceful arms, good frame). I think her core strength must be pretty good as she held a lovely straight line in the dramatic drag across the floor. Excited now to see her Quickstep, Viennese and Tango.

It was also great to see that they danced with good emotional connection - it makes all the difference to how watchable I find a couple. I am not feeling that connection at the moment between AJ/Claudia and also Naga/Pasha. Janette/Melvin I also thought didn't look like a partnership. Ed and Katya were fab though.

Didn't they make a good partnership for that dance?

Some of the lifts and spins looked so impressive.

Loved it. Great to see Gio dancing to professional level. Janette looked I thought much better with him than with the extreme height difference she has with Alijaz. Nice of Barry Gibb to applaud them at the end - love a bit of Barry

O/T Shame that Melvin went as I would liked to see him progress for a couple more weeks. The Mirror say that Anastacia had a back stage meltdown and refused to dance! OK .. its the Mirror ... but Brendan did look completely furious at the end of the show.

Can I just appreciate that Gio did NOT get partnered with Anastacia and is not caught up in this particular drama....

Ooh yes some really impressive lifts and spins, can't wait to watch it back. I absolutely loved Gio and Jo's dance to Seal last series too.

The Anastacia/Melvin decision was bound to be controversial, I wonder why they didn't just carry it over to next week and have a double elimination if needed, especially as there must be a possibility that Anastacia could pull out altogether. Laura will be sad for Melvin as they are close pals. I do feel for Anastacia though because that particular injury is probably very emotionally distressing on top of everything else she has to deal with.

On a brighter note, can I just say that I love Gio's head bopping in time to the 'fear' music, he looks like he's enjoying it (though I'm sure he isn't!)

He always does it and I think its probably no more than a way of managing the tension of that moment so OK by me as well. But he should probably stop as its traditional to have Propah Eliminations Face Of Fear .

Thank you for visiting hannah

It was a good performance for week 2, and it also shows that Laura is going to be able to learn both Ballroom and Latin - so the future looks bright!

They also seemed to have the best chemistry of any of the couples during their dance - which is a difficult and rare quality to achieve. Another positive!

Hi fatskia, agree with everything you've said there

Love this quote from Roald Dahl's 'The Twits' Laura has posted this morning to start a new training week. She's also posted the photo of her and Giovanni on top of the O2 to her Insta.

Looking forward to her new blog entry for Glamour later today to hear her thoughts on their successful weekend.

Morning all

Laura devastated at Melvin Odoom's Strictly exit

Aw Melvin seems such a lovely guy (wonder if there's a small chance he could do the Tour with Janette?) but at least he is now supporting L&G Lovely to see Gio giving him a huge hug at the end of yesterday's show too.
