Wonder what the movie is for Laura. She could certainly pull off a 70s disco number.”

Vividly Len said to Abbey "I couldn't tell you apart from the professional dancers". Even I could have done the pro dancer bit

Can't wait for Gio and Laura's salsa

Morning All!

So is that!

Gio and Neil at the Soap Awards
Gio is very smart but Neil has gone for an, erm, interesting look
Can't see any pics of Laura so not sure if she went too, but she did send a lovely tweet to Tameka who won an award tonight.”

I am sure my mother has a Chinese vase like that outfit. Best way to stand out.

Good morning, Lou . I am still in denial about that result. I hope they get a good movie/song.

Good morning It was the worst series for me

Me too! I wonder when we will find out. I absolutely adored the waltz on Saturday, Laura looked absolutely beautiful. I love that Melvin is supporting her. What a nice guy he is, I'm sad he's left (and not just because I had him in the sweepstake )

I think Neil's trying to make a name for himself ... not entirely sure what the name is though.

I forgot about that. He was always going to go out early and what happened on Saturday has made him a bit more popular, mission accomplished. Seems a very nice guy.

I hope so too. Samba needs good music.

Laura has written about last week in her Glamour magazine blog.

A good read as always... and she explains very well why she appeared a little emotional during the live show. Nice comments about Melvin - very warm and touching I thought.

Thanks, another good read Not giving anything away about the Salsa yet, guess we'll find out soon. Shame it's not samba as they could have done Cinema Italiano from the film Nine, and Laura does look quite similar to Kate Hudson.

About Neil...I wasn't too sure what to make of him at first but I think he's a nice guy and he does post a lot of behind the scenes stuff, for example this clip of Gio and Gorka larking about ...I wonder if they are available for weddings and bah mitzvahs

From what we see and hear of Neil, I like him. He doesn't have a partner and he's not sulking. He's a joiner-in and a bright presence.

Thank you for the link Daisy! I'm enjoying Gorka too. It seems the pros are a happy bunch this year -- ready to be a bit nuts

Thank you LadyLavender

My favourite quotes . . .

'. . . as Maria in The Sound Of Music would sing, 'Let's start at the very beginning,' back to when rehearsals started. (I'm now quoting musical references, what have I become?)'

' . . . when it came for me to learn it, there wasn't a glass slipper in sight. It was all tired toes and dirty ballroom shoes (I kept standing on my own toe the first day of rehearsing).'

'The waltz is a dance where you rely heavily on your partner (apparently, I'm not very good at being lead. According to Gio, I like to take control).'

'Alicia Keys' If I Ain't Got You is such a beautiful song and very romantic. If I'm honest, once the orchestra started playing it I got a bit lost in the lyrics and the dance.'

'Giovanni is such a good teacher and has really helped me with my confidence and nerves this week.'

'It's such a crazy feeling: you're happy you're through to continue the journey, but devastated to lose friends. I didn't realise it was all going to be so emotional.'

And this has made me more nervous . . .

'Next week is movie week, which I'm both excited and terrified about… and let's just say the costume and make-up department are going all out for it.'

*Bites nails waiting for songs to be announced with thoughts of jungle animals swirling round*

I don't think that they have a bland choice... lets put it like that. Can't wait for the reveal!

O/T Is Anastacia actually dancing this week?

Edit: Just seen the post downstairs - dancing VW with careful choreo. Good for her.

Exactly what I was hoping for for her. Sure Brendan will choreo a clever but beautiful routine, hope she gets a fabulous frock as well.

Can't be Jungle Book surely? ... the two main songs from that are more suited to a Charleston. Intriguing.
