Fingers crossed the theming isn't too over the top, I want Laura to be able to impress with her Salsa and not become lost among it all.

Laura & Gio are dancing their Salsa to 'Rhythm of the Night' by Valeria from Moulin Rouge, love that film!

The hair, makeup and costumes are going to be amazing.

You are ever the optimist!! I am not feeling it. I hope I am wrong.
Don't like the song, specially for a Salsa.

What! No Jungle Book So, so disappointed ....

Rhythm of the Night - not bad but bit worried that it is a bit of a bland one. Strong costumes will help.

The 'winning' songs this week to me at first glance are:

Daisy and Alijaz with Spoonful of Sugar
Ore and Joanne American Smooth to 'Singin' In the Rain
Danny and Oti will be dancing the Paso Doble to 'The Train'
Judge Rinder Charleston to 'Meet The Flintstones

BIB Maybe I've been up here in the attic too long

Just been having a listen . . .

'Rhythm of the Night' by Valeria for anyone who doesn't know it.

I genuinely think it's a great track for a Salsa and I've now changed my tune to hoping wardrobe, makeup and hair really go all out for Laura

Same here, I am worried. I wish they had given Laura 'Jai Ho ' , she would have looked amazing in an Indian dress.

Denise Van Outen and James had this track for a salsa in 2012 (see link)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8RWngWglQg

DVO danced very much a 'tall girl' salsa. Will be interesting to see what Gio does with it.

Its not my favourite track - but if its taken at a fast pace with tons of energy could be amazing. Will it stand out enough on a busy night with some 'big' numbers?

I actually like the song. Hope I am still saying that after Saturday

With their chemistry, Laura's ability and content packed choreo from Gio that shows off Laura's strengths yesI think it will

Yay stay on board with me Huph

I'm relieved they haven't got something really cheesy, that wouldn't suit Laura at all.

I have to be honest, it's a messy song and any score more than 28 will be a miracle.

Best songs for the week:

Daisy and Alijaz 'Spoon full of Sugar'
Robert and Oksana 'Meet the Flinstones'
Will and Karen 'Jai ho' - I would never have thought of this song and now I think it will score very high.
Ore and Joanne American Smooth to 'Singin' In the Rain'

Will and Karen 'Jai ho

Could be very very memorable. Lots of scope for Karen to do most of the flashy stuff too.
So..its Laura v Will (both salsa) v Louise (CCC) for a battle of the Latins Very interesting to compare those three. Louise should be the standout winner after all those years of Italia Conti.. but I wonder if it will appear a bit closer. Let's see.

(I know I should put the SambaBalls in there but we all know that some things defy categorisation... )

Tameka v Naga for a battle of the Tangos. Probably backing Tameka to edge it

Loved the O2 picture by the way. Almost a BBC team night out feeling I imagine, which must have been fun last Sunday after all the stress of the first live shows.

Yikes! I expected that Salsa to be a lot better!

I hope Giovanni is better at Salsa than Shimmy Jimmy!

We shall see if Laura can get the hips going. I think she has the temperament to be a good Salsa dancer.

It's not all about the song, I adore 'Spoonful of Sugar' and the idea of Daisy and Aljaz as Mary and Bert but I wonder if the Quickstep might have been a better fit for the music than the VW and they only danced their Unforgettable Waltz the week before last.

Laura will be a knockout in the Moulin Rouge costuming. As fatskia says she's got that feistiness for the Salsa and she and Gio will have the hottest chemistry of the three couples dancing Latin.

She sparkled in the Cha Cha, sure she'll put in a strong performance. Complex armography, lifts, backbends, will they do a neck drop? Continue working on the trust. Sure they'll work hard all week on her hip and leg action.

I'm feeling this and a big part of Laura's story already is the progression she's making having no real dance training prior to Strictly. 28 would be an improvement on 25 and she might even push that up to 29 or 30.

Not forgetting Will's pups, Nelly and Esme.

Nelly who ate TWO dance partners! That's greedy isn't it? One should be enough for any dachshund. There's also Rob Rinder's flat-faced doggy who assists with sit ups (Boston terrier? French bulldog? Other?)

There are song choices this week that I like better but it's what you do with it isn't it and I think/hope the styling for it will be amazing.

I just realised that Greg and Natalie are dancing to my all time favourite song.
Bryan Adams 'Everything that I do'. My first single.

Ochre, I hope you are right, very tricky week. I am sulking and will not get over, until I read the spoiler results.

I agree with this!! I hope Gio and Laura do well though!!

I think for movie week it is as much to do with the song as it is to do with the dance' they will need to really stand out in their salsa to compete with some of the other songs and themes in my opinion!

But I am sure they will be fine, gios hips will get them through alone 😍 They aren't going anywhere I'm sure!

Hi Sarah, do you mean to say you haven't caught any of my enthusiasm?

Looking forward to Laura & Gio on ITT this week and to seeing training footage.

Working hard on that salsa according to the Daily Fail - that is promising news. I do think that putting the hours in is the key to the celebs that manage to 'pull away' from the pack during the competition. If Laura is training hard and then restricting her work appearances (e.g the Google Pixel launch which featured Craig David last night) to the evening, it shows she is committed to learning as much as she can.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...ehearsals.html

Its tough on the celebs like Naga and Tameka that are juggling filming schedules - must be very, very hard.
