Gio had been working on his Irish accent

Training footage looking very good. Glad they are holding back the lifts as a surprise for the show. Goodness they were in full banter mode - very funny. Both very smart and looking lovely. Was Laura speaking Irish at one point during the section when Gio was pulling her leg about turning up to rehearse with the right attitude? I couldn't quite follow that joke - think she explained it but Zoe talked over her

Good call as they mentioned either shortening the costume or even taking the boa element out of it - in which case its just a sparkly leotard WILL NO-ONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN etc etc I'm glad that Zoe picked up on the bruising from the lifts and explained it well.

OT Other random thoughts from ITT. This must be Kevin's easiest year. He has almost no teaching to do, just rehearsing the routine and putting a bit of polish on Louise's existing extensive dance knowledge. Their routines will be amazing every week and she should cruise through to the final. It will make for great TV, but you can't compare Louise and e.g. Ed or Greg. or Laura. Kevin is wise to keep playing it very low key and humble.. I am still trying to like Ore but ... well it's hard. Karen eating popcorn and talking with her mouth full - very, very unattractive. Sorry. Alijaz and Daisy gave good sofa - Alijaz clearly thinks he has a finalist and he might be right.

That won't play for me on my iPad, so I'm going to have to watch ITT again on iplayer - my dog started barking at the crucial moment during the live show - coincidence or areaction to how terrible it was I wonder?

Still, I'm enjoying how much more confident Giovanni looks on the show this year.

Agree with Zoe, Laura did have a look of Veronica Lake for their Waltz.

On their Waltz . . .

Laura: 'I really enjoyed doing it, from the first week I was so nervous and was really just working on the nerves' . . . She was 'in the zone of the song' and forgot about receiving the judges remarks.

Gio , , , 'I really enjoyed the dance. That dance was a beautiful one and she did really really well so well done.' Deserved applause from Zoe and the audience.

Laura says again how much Gio helped her with her confidence

Laura . . . 'I actually didn't care what the judges were going to say cos I enjoyed it.' Gio's face lol.

Laura . . . 'I cried . . . It's all very emotional . . . I was like I'm not going to be one of those people who cry on telly' *blubs*

On training

Zoe asked 'What does Laura do first.'

Gio: 'It depends on the mood she comes to rehearsals in (Laura laughing) . . . Sometimes I have to say 'Laura please come back' but usually we start with the steps then technique . . . again it depends how she comes in to the rehearsals. The mood.' Great banter between these two.

On the Salsa

Mention Laura's bruises from rehearsing the lifts, ouch. They've practised the three lifts a lot and on Wednesday Laura didn't realise til she'd got home they'd left a bit of damage.

Laura: '(Gio) says "Be sexy" and all I can think is it hurts.'

On Laura's dress

Giovanni says shorter and Laura that they're going to somehow use the feather boa at the beginning . . . . so maybe a completely different skirt? Interesting.

Gio: 'Definitely shorter for the lift otherwise *indicates feathers in his face*.

And then Gio's Irish accent as in the twitter clip posted above . . . Laura thinks he sounds like Sean Connery, he really does

A lady from Sicily is in the audience who tells Giovanni in Italian he's her favourite (I think, Zoe says subtitles for next week lol).

Love the friendship Laura and Gio are developing and all the laughs, they definitely share a sense of humour and give good interviews.
