Lovely lovely write up Ochre. So great to see all the little details.

I thought it was Best Ever Gio interview actually. He clearly supports his partner, builds her confidence and they seem to work really, really well together. Funnily enough, Gio is making Laura seem much warmer and more likeable in her ITT interviews as the weeks go on - she comes across so well when she is laughing at her self a little bit. I thought it would be more the other way round. I hate it when the celebs get over-serious and start droning on about The Competition - no sign of that with those two.

Dress watch - love Laura's outfits on ITT. She does smart casual so well and on a tea time show I appreciate a higher neckline (can't believe I typed that but its true). Katie Derham, of all people, who is a very classy lady, had some rather worryingly low cut blouses on ITT that were unflattering I thought. Gio in a tailored suit - WINNER.

Its good that Gio is saying loud and clear, take it week by week, and make each week a complete experience of that individual dance. Its a much better mental attitude then getting over-invested in Getting To Blackpool etc etc.

Of course there were others who you would wish to forget now but good times......

Shsme so many of the members are now no longer with us including half of the Sweet & nearly all of T Rex!!

Knowing Strictly, they will force Laura to quickstep in platform boots and an acrylic tank top and put Gio in a Starsky and Hutch style cardigan.

I'm away for a few days after today, so am going to miss this week's live show and result's show. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for a great quickstep and no dance off.

Hi Huph, my youngest was and I couldn't get back to sleep after she did After rewatching Laura & Gio's interview and the Ballroom Blitz clip LL posted I thought I'd listen to Daisy & Aljaz's music and went to sleep with the sax solo from 'Careless Whisper' going round in my head . . . So it made me laugh to log on to see this photo Laura posted today with Pasha on Tunes on Tuesday


That's ok claire_louise, it was good to hear their insight in to the dance off and how upbeat they are about this week

Regarding platform boots with my boiler suit , I like it!!
I'll glue a couple of blocks to the bottom of me wellies & start practising right away!!

I can totally see Gio in some 70s ensemble involving him getting his pecs out and wearing a classy gold medallion, Swiss tony from the fast show style 'You know the quickstep is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman...'

Thank goodness I am well passed those nights but I would like to be that young . Nowadays nothing can stop me from going to sleep

Non trained dancer, only Week 3, performing a Latin dance which isn't necessarily her strength, being lowered in on a trapeze, fast and tricky content, lifts, requiring an extrovert performance. . . Laura is incredible for pulling it off when feeling emotionally fragile in the dance off and Gio deserves huge plaudits for not only coaching her to that level already but also providing such immense support to her. They make a brilliant team.

Laura to me is the perfect mix of invested as she loves the show, is hardworking and competitive and wants to make the most of the opportunity to be taught to dance by Gio while also maintaining a healthy amount of perspective on the whole experience. I love that they share such a great sense of humour, tease each other and can laugh at themselves.

I can't fault them - they have exactly the right attitude.

I think I forgot to come back and appreciate after the dance off .... Really enjoyed seeing the dance again, dodgy lifts and all. They both looked gorgeous and I loved how much she was dancing--I was watching her the whole time.

I was also impressed with Giovanni's competitiveness--he seemed so fired up and ready to attack. Not at all sad/upset about being in the DO.

Well said Ochre. It was an amazing performance - I really, really hope that Laura gets a few more weeks (at least!) to show what she can do.

And, of course, receiving a lower mark than Will Young without grumbling.

Gio deserves credit for supporting his dance partners and getting them through a tough live programme.

O/T I am not knocking Karen Clifton but I wonder if a more supportive approach in the training room would have helped Will cope more. I get the impression that Katya is working marvels with Ed.

Laura & Gio looking amazing on Waite's Warmup! Ian liked her frame and commented on no gapping. Fast routine, really excited for Saturday.
