I loved it, and Laura and Gio looked like they loved it too. Just got to sort that head out! Fingers crossed they've done enough

Loved it! What a great comeback from the dance off, just hope Laura's hard work is recognised. They looked like they were having a great time out there! Extra happy for Jo and Ore too (so sweet that Gio grabbed her for a hug when they got the scores, he must be very proud too).

MICK MICK MICK!!!! Glad they got good scores, I loved it.
yes, it was a great dance and they looked good together .... when Laura said that Mick Jagger was coming into the training room I got quite excited .... as a huge Stones fan .... but if Laura's called her dog after Mick then she's gone up in my estimation as has Gio when he said the Rolling Stones "were the best band ever"

Pleased to see Laura and Gio more prominent up with Claudia. I remember hardly seeing them last week.
always good to see lots of views of Gio in the Clauditorium

my favourite dances of the night were Danny and Ore's .... both superb, imo

'Are you ready Laura? Giovanni? Alright then, let's go!!'

Youtube link to Laura & Gio's electric and perfectly hectic Quickstep.

Have watched this back so many times now. So impressed with Laura's footwork and timing. Considering the speed she did amazingly well to hold her frame as well as she did and there was only minimal gapping. Brilliant music and more great content packed choreo from Gio. I loved the ending. Laura's said a few times how important the song is to her and you could see her getting in to the music. They looked like they had so much fun dancing it together, a really lovely reaction from them both to the judges comments and scores, particularly Bruno's 9

Supportive reactions to their dance in the Clauditorium too. Claudia herself was so genuinely thrilled for Laura

Backstage reaction . . . Laura: 'We feel very happy. Woo Team Lovanni! Is that too loud? Woooohooo!' Gio

It's a 10 from Mick

Judges comments and scores for Laura & Gio's Quickstep

Bruno: 'Are you kidding me? There are no speed limits on Strictly! If you did that down the M1 you'd lose your licence. I think I felt a sonic boom. That was so fast, so complicated, so difficult yet performed with such ease, it was fantastic. There's one section, the section up there when you went from a Charleston in to a Pendulum, it was brilliant and the acceleration across . . . It just was fantastic, you deserve to be here I'm telling you.'

Craig: 'I thought you both covered the floor very, very well. The Charleston section I have to say was absolutely stand-outish, wonderful moment. I did at times think you were fighting eachother a little bit when you were in hold but that's only I think because of the speed of it. And then I was thinking about that headbanging moment. I didn't know whether that was a love or hate section and I decided at the end to love it so well done.'

Darcey: 'Laura fabulously fast, my god it was busy down below wasn't it (). On the stage, that was definitely my favourite bit, when you were on the spot moving like that, stunning. When you travelled I do believe, for me in the top line just your right shoulder seems to roll in and I think that's just where you take the effort but my gosh you were travelling, that was fast. Very impressive, well done. Thank you Bruno.'

Len: 'Your head got a little bit over-exaggerated at times, it was a little bit strange. However, having said that plenty of lights, plenty of cameras, plenty of action. Honestly, flat out, no larking about . . . If you're in the bottom two this week I'm going to pickle my walnuts I promise you.'

Scores: 8, 8, 8, 9 Overall score of 33.

Well deserved 1 mark improvement from their Waltz and I thought correct position on the leaderboard.

Lovely moment Jo is an incredible teacher, choreographer and dancer.

Joining in the chorus of appreciation for the Quick-Quick-Quickstep I was surprised that I liked it even more than I expected - when I watched it back (err... just once or possibly twice ) I realised it was down to the clever choreo. I thought it was going to be fast and furious all the way through.. but Gio varied the pace so that Laura could demonstrate controlled footwork, not just speedy skipping around. Smart Gio! And putting the Charleston section not only on the podium, but having a spotlight on her footwork, was.... ummm..... a cheeky confident call that I think paid off rather nicely judging by Craig's comments.

Great, great judges comments and scores. I am liking that leaderboard position A LOT

Thank you so much Ochre for capturing the judges comments, its so interesting to reflect on them again.

And..... vote for Mick I say! He is a winner. The cheesy VTs normally make my teeth itch a bit but I think they should go all in on the Mick VTs every single week.

DId Gio go to the Pasha School of Acting btw

Laura in a prom dress looks incredible. That length is perfect on her. And who knew that a Sicilian man could wear a pink and black lace shirt and still look.... rather dashing.

OT I loved Danny's Quickstep last night and thought that Oti did a fabulous job on her choreo. Great music and costumes but Danny danced it completely brilliantly. Ore's dance was great as well but for some reason I found Danny's more watchable - it might be Danny's music and theme which was just terrific.

If Danny is through to next week, he will be dancing Rumba (apparently - from a thread in the main forum). So I think that the Instagram clip that Laura posted showed Gio demonstrating the male steps in the Rumba with Oti, to help Danny, rather than because it might be Laura's Week 5 dance if she is through.

Its always welcome to see team work between the pro dancers

It was a clever use of the intro music and the Charleston section on the stage worked brilliantly.
Practically never saw daylight between their hips, and Laura did amazingly well at isolating her top half and legs.

The only bit I think could have been improved would have been to have danced over to do the Charleston section instead of running, but it was great choreography to a difficult song and a brilliant performance.

I am hoping that if they are through next week, the Theme Pixies on Strictly give them a crowd-pleasing piece of music. Danny has had a good run so (if he is through) by rights he should be Week 5 rumba-ing to Pitbull

Please! I'd love music and costume that works with whatever dance they're given.

Danny should be dressed as an actual hamster with a wheel and a feeding bottle to balance out his good fortune

I read a supposed spoiler on Twitter last night saying that Laura was in the DO and subsequently voted out, so I'm very pleased that it was incorrect!

I wish there was more of a buzz surrounding them, I think they're fantastic and Laura is improving by the week! Looking forward to finding out what they're dancing next week.

Laura and Gio safely through to Week 5. Really, really pleased. And Laura looked completely delighted so I think she is now having a Propah Strickly Experience - good for her. Gio is back on good form too. Nice of Gio to go to hug the very poorly looking Brendan and also Anastacia after the dance off.

I don't think we had any clues on their Week 5 dance, did we?

I guess Latin? Jive/Samba/Rumba... or a Charleston maybe.

Yes I checked it as well. I couldn't imagine that Len would have to pickle his walnuts ... he hasn't had to as yet but it was still a worrying wait especially as before the spoiler result came in Twitter was saying that Laura had gone!!
Thought she looked beautiful and danced amazingly well.
Hope they get a Charleston or a Jive!

After such a tough and emotional night last weekend I am so thrilled for Laura & Gio this week Huph! A well deserved place in Week 5, they went all out and pulled it off.

Brilliant Quickstep with that all important improvement again as you say paperdreams. Every time I watch it back I'm even more impressed with Laura's footwork and overall performance. They're an exciting and hardworking partnership and it's lovely to see Laura and Gio enjoying dancing together so much.

Yes I think Laura is having the Strictly experience she hoped for LL

Jive is the dance Laura said she wanted to do at the beginning and with her anecdotes about the Whitmore family jiving at weddings I'd love them to all join Mick for a VT.

However I'd quite like to save Jive for later on . . . yes I dare say it

After their full on Salsa and Quickstep I'll go for Rumba as my guess for this week.

I'd be happy with a Rumba for next week. I know that it can be a very difficult dance to get right, but they have fantastic chemistry and I think that would transfer really well.

I'd also love to see a Charleston, especially after the section in their dance last night!

I would like it NOT to be Jive actually, as Judge Rinder will inevitably have a 'crowd pleaser' of a song and theme for his jive next week which might overshadow Laura's in the public mind.

Danny has Rumba, Claudia has Samba.. I wonder if Laura will have a Paso?

Roll on Tuesday.

Yes if Laura and Gio show their chemistry in a Rumba in the way they did in their Waltz it could be an amazing dance for them paperdreams.

I'd be very happy with Charleston or Paso too, I hope they're given another good song.

Looking forward to Laura's blog tomorrow to hear her thoughts on this weekend

She's had quite a lot of quick (quick, quick) dances, so whether latin or ballroom, I think I'd like to see a slow dance next. Poor girl will be exhausted! Maybe rumba or viennese waltz.

But with luvverly music and no milkmaid shtick

Gio's been out salsa-ing with Jannette and alajz!
https://twitter.com/JManrara/status/787928343094169600

I am incredibly jealous of whoever was in that club. Mind you if anything would put me off my moves it'd be pro dancers (esp Gio) turning up, my knees would probably give up mid dance!

Though I wanna see Mick getting his groove on!
