Yes it was a good interview. It does sound (reading between the lines of that interview) as if Saturday was a bit overwrought, as you and Ochre and others thought. Laura was clearly absolutely unfit to dance on Saturday and should have taken the advice on Friday.

The 'new news' from ITT was that her very best friend had flown over from Dublin specially to watch her dance at Elstree. And instead ended up watching the show on TV at Laura's flat with a Chinese takeaway. I wonder if that contributed to Laura feeling that she really, really wanted to dance. Gio said words to the effect of 'you couldn't even walk, yet you thought you could jive' with a bit of an eye-roll.

They have clearly a lot of work to do to master the Tango technique and not much time.

Its not obvious to me who is bottom 2 this week. Lowest scores might be Greg and Ed but both are popular so it is going to be a week when being mid-table is dangerous.. So.. nervous for Laura. But she is on track to dance so she is back in the game with Gio.

Greetings from sunny Sicily! (Well it was after sundown when we arrived but it is balmy enough so am expecting a bit of sun in the coming days!)

Thanks for the ITT summary Lady L - I haven't been able to see it here but did catch a little little clip on Twitter just now and glad they seem in good spirits and will be giving it as much as they possibly can under the circumstances.
Have a lovely time in Sicily

Lovely interview - really agree they are both in good spirits. I had wondered how their team work was after dealing with Laura's injury and pulling out of the show etc but they look absolutely fine. Glad actually that they both said that they are not making the routine 'noddy' - Gio said it was a 'difficult routine' and Laura said that she didn't want to use her injury as an excuse to do less on Saturday. So they are both going to give it a good shot.

Nice touch by Gio to say that IF they made the final then Jive could be part of their show dance. And Laura chipped in to say that she just wanted to get through Saturday thank you very much!. So they seem to be in the right place and right frame of mind.

The training clip was very 'early days' and posture and frame looked a bit for Tango but I would imagine they were stepping through the routine as today's focus.

Costumes and characters: Mr and Mrs Death
Thanks for the update Lady Lavender, I wasn't able to watch ITT last night - real life getting in the way I am every faith in Laura and Giovanni's partnership, he will look after her and do his utmost to give her the best opportunity to progress. Laura is so beautiful that she will look good as Mrs Death!

Laura has a pack of ice on her ankle (and some bruising still on show). She's just posted a photo on Instagram. I would try and cut and paste but the length of the link will make all your screens go funny ..... calling Ochre, come in Ochre.

Hello Lou. Yes - that is another gel pack going on isn't it. Must be lunch break.

So she is on the merry-go-round of train, rest, ice, elevate. Repeat... and repeat.

Its a bit scary to think that tomorrow they start the run through at Elstree.

I am glad that they seem to be on track to take part in this week's show - I think at the moment it is probably important for Gio to have work to focus on, so every week that Laura stays in the competition is a good week for Gio.

Morning M'lady Yes, I will be really pleased for them both to get through Saturday so Laura can have a proper job rest on Sunday. I have so much respect for Giovanni, I think I'd struggle to show the restraint he has and I never thought I would say that!

As a pro dancer, he must have spent most of his teenage and adult life managing dance-related injuries - it goes with the territory. I do wonder whether he was properly listened to last week. Pointless to speculate really. Gio and Laura still seem to have a good partnership on ITT so that is the main thing.

Yes I agree. I think Laura has bought out a really caring and supportive side of Giovanni that I haven't seen before. She did say at the start of the series that she's very independent and likes to be in control, I hope she now realises that she has to be truthful to Gio about her injury and to listen to him.

I am a bit nervous about this Saturday.

Laura posted a lovely picture of her and Gio on her Instagram story last night but I have no idea how to upload it.

I'm a bit nervous, too, Lou, mainly because I don't want her to go out there and evidently be struggling. It won't be nice to see.

I can't see that one paperdreams but I do get confused with Laura's Instagram account(s) - I'm not completely sure which ones are official and which ones are run by her fans

Yes, totally agree. That's why I'm nervous as well. I would like them to dance fairly early on and get rave marks from the judges so that they are hopefully safe for next week. Fingers crossed.

There is also sleepy Mick snuggled up in bed on her insta story. The cuteness is ridiculous.

I'm nervous too for Laura.

I'm not sure about Laura's instagram either. When someone mentions a pic or a story I go on to her instagram and can't find it . I am not exactly an expert on twitter and instagram

Laura posts quite a few pictures on the Instagram Stories feature, which is a bit like Snapchat. You will only see that on your phone, provided your Instagram app is up to date. If you look at Insta on your PC, you won't see them (although there is an unofficial add-on to some browsers to see Instagram Stories on your PC if you are a bit geeky).

So I try to say 'Instagram Stories' picture if that is where she has posted... but I probably forget at times - which would explain why you can't see some of the pics.

I am also nervous for the weekend.

Trying to take my own Gio/Laura preference out of it... Each week YouGov have published a survey about who the public would like to win, their favourites etc. Now that is NOT THE SAME as how people ACTUALLY voted but it tells you something. And the YouGov data shows that the only woman with any public support to win is Louise. Claudia, Daisy, Laura and Anastacia are down there at the bottom - not much to choose between them.

They willl totally depend each week on having either
- a high leaderboard position OR one or more of:
- an eye-catching dance, good position in the running order, a sympathy vote, GORKA, bottom 2 bounce, Len pickling his walnuts, Craig being 'unfairly' nasty, Len shouting at the pro...... to get the voters engaged.

The sympathy vote, if you like, is split between Laura (injury), Daisy (Bottom 2 last week) and Brendan (lung infection)+Anastacia (injury).

So who knows. Greg might, just about, appear in the Bottom 2 this week with a Bloke Rumba to some unlikeable music.

Laura and Gio can, after all, only do their best possible dance

Laura is back at work tonight, hosting the Unsigned Music Awards over in Limehouse. Her co-host, Chris Stark, described her as 'my one legged co-presenter'

Looks like she has got her sensible chunky black boots on A few Instagram Stories snaps of the event - with Laura keeping her foot propped up.

ITT today had both a clip of Laura and Gio.. and also a different Ian Waite clip for analysis.

What did anyone think?

Ian Waite said that he liked her frame, head position and body position against Gio. But he pointed out that she was not making most of heel leads correctly (Ian said.. possibly due to injury but he emphasised that Laura needs to fix that problem). I thought she was flat footed - Ian said that there were toe leads. Overall though it looked a lot better than the clips shown yesterday.

Its going to be a strong night. Am excited for the show this weekend. All the clips of the other couples looked good apart from Ed's Cha Cha Cha

We have only seen 10 seconds of Daisy yesterday and a little bit of Anastacia. From the costumes, Daisy has a beautiful, very traditional red Paso dress and will I think look stunning.

Choreo watch: Gio has put at least one back bend in the routine (surprise, surprise)

Yes, most couples look really good, so I say prepare for the worst and hope for the best. All we can do is keep fingers crossed and cheer her on. The rest is up to Laura and Gio.

We know that Laura is at risk : may not be able to perform at her best due to injury, less practice time, lost momentum due to not performing last week, has already been in dance off, the competition is fierce.

Earlier in the week the news could have been really bad and she might not have been able to dance at all. She has at least one more dance, so I'm just going to be pleased about that!

Agree with this totally. Its Halloween, should be a great show, Gio has put together a competitive routine and they will give it a good shot. I'm happy with all that. Oh, and they have a GREAT song so I am double-happy. If Laura and Gio can manage to be placed somewhere in the middle of the Leaderboard, it would be a good result for them (if not a very safe place to be).

I know Ian said she was not doing heel leads and I think maybe the ankle is not allowing this? The trainers don't help either but I suppose she doesn't have any other option but to wear them to support the ankle.

After seeing other couples I do expect Laura to be in the DO but I don't think anyone would be surprised if she is. I am hoping for the best but won't be too disappointed as she can only do her best.

Daisy's dress was beautiful.

I think Gio has taught the routine and drilled the posture, frame and head placement stuff.
Maybe he will teach more footwork technique closer to Saturday (what am I saying - its Friday tomorrow ) It might be that he has done some teaching but that Laura is going to fake it until the day... who knows. Or fire up the dry ice
