I am so sad that there may be ill feeling between Laura and Gio I thought their relationship was good and they certainly had a good interview on ITT on Friday.

I thought Laura was more upset with herself on Saturday but the fact she gets quite teary surprised me - I expected her to be much more stoic (can't think of a better word) as she comes across quite confident and feisty.

Disappointed in her unfollowing Gio unless is it for the reasons you said Lou. Don't think she can blame him at all for her being in the bottom 2. ITT will be interesting.

I hope I'm right Huph. Laura has risen above all the other following/unfollowing nonsense and the drawing attention to the fact that some people might potentially be nasty about her so to do this now to make a statement would be really out of character.

Yes. It seems very odd And not really her style.

I don't understand it either Would hate their strictly experience to end on a sour note.

I've only just been able to catch up with the results show. FWIW I thought they massively upped their game in the DO and would have actually saved them over Ore, but it was never going to happen. Their final dance was lovely - I shed a little tear

Laura was wonderfully gracious about the whole thing. I've liked her for ages as I always thought she was great on I'm A Celeb but we've really gotten to know her with Strictly and I'm sad that the journey has come to an end.

Unfollowing Gio is a bit strange and I'd hate to think they ended bitterly - it is quite a statement to make. I didn't really think things were awkward over the weekend as others have mentioned apart from that backstage clip where Laura mentioned the spins, but I got the impression she was disappointed in herself more than anything (especially after the high of last week) Whatever the reason I think ITT will be fine.

Thanks for all the posts.

With her injury, it was probably this week or next week. With a VW, it might well have been next week I think. With a Samba on an injured leg.. it was always likely to end in Bottom 2 unless someone else had a very bad week. And the other weaker dancers had VW and Quicksteps to help them.

The three remaining ladies are all technically better dancers although Laura wasn't far behind Daisy. So I think Gio did a good, professional job this year to help Laura finish in a 'fair' position in the competition. She improved week by week so Gio has clearly shown he can teach and I have enjoyed their routines.

I hope that Laura is not feeling Gio is responsible for Bottom 2 on Friday. Even if she does feel that, I hope that keeps that to herself.

Laura had some public votes including mine but at the end of the day, just not enough to keep her safe, and not enough to get her to Blackpool. That is not down to Gio.”

BIB - Sorry to disagree with you, LL. I would rather watch Laura than, Daisy or Louise and if she had survived this stupid Samba, with more favourable dances to come, Laura would have been amazing. I honestly believe, AS, VW, Rumba and AT would have suited Laura and sure to have scored very high. Very unlucky.

I like Clauda, but I wish she was much taller.

On a lighter note to all this gloom, Mick is on the cover of women's health with Laura

Hello Sarah - I agree - I would prefer to watch Laura and Gio.

I was talking about technical dance quality really. Louise has many years of dance training and is just starting from a totally different point in dance quality, which means higher judges' scores. Same with Claudia via her gymnastics background. Daisy had modern/contemporary lessons throughout her teens (just the 'normal' weekly lesson thing - not stage school like Louise). which made her Latin look a little more flowing than Laura.

I thought Laura was actually pretty close to Daisy, both were improving each week and Laura could out-score Daisy her depending, as you say, on the dance they were given.

But without a decent public vote, it was tricky to see Laura being saved by the judges ahead of Claudia or Louise if it came to that point. They might have saved Laura over Daisy - would have depended on the dance on the night.

Laura was unlucky with her dance this week, totally agree. Actually, I would say that the producers gave her the hardest possible dance to do, knowing she had an injury, and the outcome was as they expected.

I said right at the beginning of Strictly that Laura seemed to have an ease and flow to her movements, and I certainly saw that in the Latin dances with her hips. On top of that, she could really act the dances. Her ballroom ones were great, so I agree Sarah. Given a different set of circumstances I think she would have gone further than the other non trained dancers Daisy and Claudia. Not sure about Louise - despite being trained, she hasn't sold a dance for me yet, non even her AT.

A rumba would have been fab, as would the remaining ballroom.

Laura's acting, which shone out in the Tango, was starting to differentiate her from the other three ladies. She really was starting to sell a routine and I thought she gave a good shot at really 'selling' that Samba.

Agree with you about Louise - it has really surprised me that she doesn't connect very well. I keep finding myself watching Kevin

I agree. I like Louise and she is good but she's just missing something, that je ne sais quois.

I'm sad to see Laura go so soon, I'm sure she had more excellent dances in her and I'm a bit annoyed she seems to have been given one of the hardest dances to do with a dodgy ankle but I fear the producers take no mercy 🙄
I can understand if she is pissed off about it, she must know if she'd had another dance or even a slower song she would've stood a better chance. And she must know she's a better dancer than others but not as popular with the public.
I'm going to put all this unfollowing etc drama down to heightened emotions and I hope it'll calm down in a few days. It must be such a rollercoaster emotionally for anyone but adding in the injury etc, yikes! Maybe they just need to blow off steam and have a few days to calm down.

I just cannot take to Louise or Daisy (sorry Ochre) so my favourite lady is Claudia.

Louise is so boring and I don't really feel anything for Daisy apart from wishing she would stop smiling all the time

Well after their ITT interview I don't think they have fallen out!

Seeing Laura cry made me a bit emotional - I think despite her confident exterior she has a certain vulnerability, and I feel like this competition meant a lot to her in terms of proving herself. She reminds me a little bit of Caroline Flack in that way.

I will miss them next week and think Daisy will have my support now, although I don't really feel that strongly about any of those left in the competition.

Everything seemed fine between them tonight. I do agree with her that she had more to give I hate the Samba

Yes, I didn't detect any tension at all between Laura and Giovanni - they seemed perfectly friendly to me.

I do wish we could have seen a couple more dances from them though.

It's been lovely being on this thread this year, and such a shame it's come to an end already.

Enjoy the rest of the series, everyone.

ITT seemed completely fine to me too. Not into analysis of every twitch and blink, mind you, as I am sure you can convince yourself of anything

Some nice things said by both of them about the show and about each other. Their highlights were quite touching and told a good story.

I did notice that Gio is looking, to my eyes anyway, increasingly tired. The pros normally get one weekend off (I think) if they are not in competition. I remember this being discussed when someone saw Tristan in Dublin on a Saturday in November post-Jamelia. Hope Gio can get away for a bit of family time in Palermo.

I enjoyed Appreciating this year with everyone.

Christmas Special Celebrities:

Denise Lewis 5'8"
Pamela Stephenson 5'4"
Frankie Bridge 5'3"

Ainsley Harriott
Gethin Jones
Melvin Odoom

So.... will Gio have a Christmas Special role? He knows Frankie from the tour last year.. Funnily enough, I could see him with Pamela Stephenson

Brilliant routines Gio created for Laura. She's a beautiful dancer, a talented, warm, feisty and fun lady and I'd like to see her back on a Christmas Special and presenting on either ITT or the main show in the future.

Thanks for the VT link NicPlays, nice words from Daisy, made me smile. Looking forward to ITT tomorrow, pleased for Laura she was flying straight out to the EMAs and has been having a blast in Rotterdam tonight.

She's still dancing

Really enjoyed following Laura & Gio with you all x”

Bit behind with everything after a hectic weekend but very much agree with all this.

Laura is also following Gio on Twitter again! She did say at the beginning that they were both feisty and might have some fights who knows, maybe she just needed some space. Anyway it feels better this way and that was a lovely last interview. Although it was too soon, I'm glad she got to leave from the dancefloor and not by having to leave through injury.

Edit: you beat me to it Huph
