I would like to get some input from the thread on how we go forward now that Laura has left Strictly.

There have been a few suggestions that it might be time for a Giovanni Pernice Appreciation thread. As Gio has promised to announce his Big News today (could it be... a tour etc etc?) do we want to

A Start a Giovanni Pernice Appreciation thread - and discuss his news there
B Rename this thread - as Laura is now out of the competition
C Any other suggestions welcome including Carry On Don't Change Anything

There is nothing to stop a Gio Appreciation thread discussing his current and former dance partners but probably that tends to happen only if the news is dance or Strictly related to keep it On Topic, rather than tracking their independent careers.

All positive thoughts are welcome.

I'd be in favour of a Giovanni thread. I say this tentatively because I am very very bad at visiting the Strictly forum when Strictly is over for the year, but it makes sense to my mind to start the thread.

On the other hand with the long-running GG thread and this and then the possible new one, we'd be spreading our Giovanni butter very thin

Yeah but he'd probably like that, having not one, but three threads on DS the little Italian egoist that he is . But I agree that it's a good idea. Gleb and Artem and other ex and current pros have their own, so it's not unusual.

Their previous dance partners and other things are still discussed and mentioned, people posting their fave Gleb/Anita dance etc (well I still do) but the primary focus is what they're doing now, So if Giovanni has a new project then it will be a good time.

BTW I know that much of the news about Giovanni and Gleb and others is on twitter and Instagram etc but although I'm on twitter I don't actually have time to follow it that closely and Instagram is for posing and not really posting (not MY opinion it comes from a 16 year old I work with but I think it's an accurate and astute view) therefore I like to come to an appreciation thread to catch up with the latest news.

So yeah, long winded way of saying... go for it.

Ah sorry to see Ed go Sarah, he's been so entertaining and made such huge leaps in improvement over the series. All thanks to Katya who is an absolute star. Week 10 was an awesome run for them and Katya got to dance at Blackpool with him which obviously meant a great deal to her.

I always remember Laura and Ed dancing on the Launch Show red carpet together.

We have to compromise on someone, I say no to Louise.

I love the song 'Still falling for you' the whole time I was thinking, what if Laura had danced a barefoot Rumba in that colour dress??. We missed out on so much. Really unlucky.

Oh thank you for that link Sarah, what a lovely photo posted by Laura. A perfect representation of my memories from the Launch Show of her looking beautiful in her yellow dress, eyes sparkling with excitement and boogying with Ed and also Anastacia!

Love her anecdote about singing songs from Joseph with Ed and Jo I remember going to see it at the Palladium in my early teens and learning all the songs off by heart.
