Some pro's you're glad to see the back of...particularly Yvetta...and James & Ola.
I miss Robin though.

I don't think that the opening VTs are a good way to judge the new pros, as they are pretty much pushed to come across as full of themselves, and what they say in them may even be scripted.

I will judge them more by the way they interact with their celebs in situations such as It Takes Two and the non-scripted rehearsal footage (please, please, let the producers stop trying to crowbar in 'fun' set pieces for those segments, only about 1/10 of their set ups are worth watching.)

The only one I'm not super keen on so far is Neil, who seems to be trying a bit too hard to grab the limelight, but that could be because he doesn't have a celeb and is trying to make an impression.

I do suspect that he'd have been given a celeb if Greg hadn't been in the line up, as he's got history working with Strictly. I think he's choreographed group numbers for them in the past as I know I've seen him on the show a few times. As others have said, though, they look quite similar, and since the producers made Joanne and others dye their hair dark because of too many blondes previously, then I can see them trying to avoid having two red-headed men in the same series.

the leo de caprio lookalike seemed ok...a bit young, but not up himself. I agree with the rest of your statement.

Come back aliona, all is forgiven!!

Give them a chance for goodness sake, you are a viewer not an expert!

I liked all the new professional dancers. And the one big advantage they have over some of the pros who have been brought in previously, is that they all come from a ballroom/Latin background.

Gorka has made Latin championship finals;
Neil & Katya were Amateur World champions, and 4 times British National champions.
Oksana I don't know much about, but do know she trained in bb/Lat.
AJ & Chloe were Amateur Youth Latin champs.

Aj & Chloe recently turned professional to join Strictly, so I feel AJ may lack teaching experience. However, maybe his dad, Adrian Pritchard, will be able to lend a hand (yes that is "legal").

First impressions loving both the new males pros in AJ and Gorka looking forward to seeing them more

Early days.

I didn't love Karen Hauer (before she was Clifton) when we first saw her (though didn't hate her by any stretch obvs), but I like her much more now and think she's even quite funny in a nutty kind of way. She doesn't take herself seriously (which I quite admire in a person) and I think, given how she's been dressed/made up on the show at times, a good sport. It probably wasn't until she was with Dave that she finally grew on me.

In contrast, the moment we saw James Jordan I didn't warm to his personality or care much for watching him dance mainly, and that barely changed throughout his time on the show. While I had no problems with some of what he said, I just found him up himself, lacking in humour (or be it didn't gel with his brand of so called banter) and prob pref all the new male pros that came after him, easily by far.

So, sometimes you need to wait it out, even for some seasons.

I don't think it matters they look young, as of course anything highly physical profession, sport or dance, is something that lots/most are at their prime in when they're in their 20s (for the career and titles goals). Obv the older I get the younger someone looks (like Chloe & AJ), even though actually they're not getting younger really, I'm just getting older.

The new Pros seem fine, imo, and we have to remember that once they get into the grind of Strictly they open up more, relax and can sometimes seem totally different to our inital reactions,

I miss Tristan
Though thought Gorka had a bit of a look of Tristan.

I liked AJ and Chloe from what I've seen so far but I can't take Neil Jones seriously because he reminds me of Sherminator from the American Pie films. Sorry Neil, know you're a world champ and all that.

And Gorka - welcome to the UK. Let me know if you need anything .

Gorka may replace a Tristan shaped hole!

Thought I would bump this thread. Wonder if OP has had a chance to reconsider now a bit of time has passed.

I think they are all great new additions this year

Katya, Gorka and AJ all come across really well. I can see all 3 back next year.

I like Oksana but for me, she just has one series written all over her, like Trent.

I am loving Katya and Gorka and AJ is growing on me. First impressions of Oksana were great but she seems to be fading away which is odd.

Jury still out as far as I am concerned re Chloe and Neil, not seen enough of them yet.

I think they are great and nice to look at too. Pros shouldn't be given more than 5-6 series imo. Out with the old in with the new.
