From the played footage I've seen I don't like the changed lighting or voices, but what really worried me was that the gameplay looked slightly faster than the original - it was fast enough for the size of the maps, however things have changed in the sequels.

It's dedicated servers then?
Yes according to question 12 on the MWR FAQ page https://support.activision.com/artic...Remastered-FAQ

Gameplay looks the same to me - maybe the YouTubers playing have just got faster at it.

Good to hear about the servers

I've only seen PS4 compared to PS3, movement speed looks slightly faster to me, possibly RoF too. Hopefully I'm wrong because it doesn't need to be and I like remasters to be as close to the original experience as possible.

The lead designer for Raven Software who are developing MWR is responding to feedback. Might be best tweeting him if you've noticed anything out of the ordinary.

This is the tweet that confirms movement should be the same as the original although any anomalies should be reported https://twitter.com/wendellwobble/st...25873057624065

In another tweet he confirmed that damage and health values are also the same https://twitter.com/wendellwobble/st...35313229553665

Has there been any news if Infinity Warfare is required to play the remaster or can you you download it & get rid of the disc? I've not been in the loop with things CODwise

Noone knows for sure. Only thing we can go by is the Activision FAQ for MWR which says 'you must own Infinite Warfare to get MWR".

https://support.activision.com/artic...Remastered-FAQ

I'm sure we'll know closer to release.

Maybe not so trusty without the acog 1 shot kill glitch. Its not IW making this but hopefully the hit detection is as good, the most important thing in any shooter.

They should have done away with the perk where you can hear enemy voice chat. Teammates chatting will likely be in a party anyway, a tac resist perk is whats needed.

They have said the same for the last few cods and the lag is worse than ever except ghosts. They could have 2 dedicated servers and still market the game as having them.

I never used ACOG anyway, never got on with that scope at all.

I thought about certain changes I'd have liked them to make, but ultimately, it's a slippery slope. I'd rather they changed nothing than risk changing too much and ruining it.

They do like fooking up their own games, if it stays the way it is we will all be happy. If there is a big enough player base i wonder if they would consider releasing dlc, see what Raven can come up with to see if they could potentially be a lead developer.

But people still pay for the fooking up, year after year

I'll put money on the remaining 4 MW maps being weaved into the IW dlc packs. 4 maps, 4 dlc packs, and it'll be the same principle as the main game, ie. You'll have to get IW dlc, to get MW dlc.

Amos Wendell Hodge ‏@wendellwobble (Lead Designer @RavenSoftware) tweeted the following recently:

"Raven will be updating the obituary icons for headshots and melee kills to match the orginal theme."

"Raven has updated the sounds for the Barrett, DEgale, RPD, and M40A3 to more closely match the original."

https://twitter.com/wendellwobble

Great news, wonder if they're going to update the sounds for the rest of the guns particularly P90 silenced. Sounded great in the original but not as good in the remaster.

Great thanks! Movement speed and RoF was definitely off in the one early vid I saw having revisited the original, so let's hope they get that sorted The cynic in me says they tried to push the speed as 'subtly' as they could to match up to the latest games/younger gamers and wait to see what the feedback was but there seems enough fan backlash to hopefully sort that out. The lighting...who knows?

I thought they'd tweaked the hit boxes (or at least had said they had)? That's a change I would welcome.

Yes indeed, this is Infinity Ward we're talking about after all*. I just thought that servers rather than P2P meant on PC at least the game could continue beyond publisher/console support on private servers - are there none of those? If so I'll be expected to but Infinity Totalspaceannihilation on the PS6 or Xbone PC 100 or whatever to enjoy this game again. (Or, as a PC numpty I've got this all wrong - please correct me!)

Alas I never got into CS. If I had I'd still be on that no doubt. But this is the one MP game of the type that will see me through very many long years, as long as it's available and playable on servers.

* How's Robert Bowling's 'game studio' going btw? From forum community spokesmuppet to industry 'bigwig' for all of one day!?!

glad they changed the Deagle sound - there was nothing better than pulling out a deagle and 1 shot headshotting people half way across the map. God I wish this was coming out as standalone - I spent years playing Cod4 on PC , even though it was PROMOD and not standard.

There are rumours it will come as a standalone. A guy from Raven said the 6 remaining maps will be delivered to anyone who owns MWR, or a versoin of it that comes with Infinite Warfare.

I know I'm going to get murdered on the MW maps. I only started playing CoD multiplayer when I got BO1, I was one of the few folks that played CoD for the campaign before that.

I'm looking forward to playing the campaign again though. Before playing MW I couldn't understand the popularity of CoD. On a whim I picked up MW because it was cheap and remember being blown away with the campaign. After that I played all the CoD campaigns. Sadly the q5uality and difficulty has gotten worse with each game.

Terrible they feel thier new game won't sell by itself.
Mwr should've been selling on its own right maybe even mid life of iw.

Cancelled my pre order. Goes to show Activision aren't confident IW will sell as a standalone product so have to force you to buy and keep it in order to play MWR. Smacks of pure greed.

Have a feeling they will sell it standalone when the rest of the maps release in the New Year when they see sales have plummeted for IW.

Yeah I think we'll see a standalone release some time next year. I'd like to play MW Remastered but not enough to buy Infinite Warfare to do so, especially as it only comes with the costly special editions. Sod that!
