Just posting a YT of the paso. It has been dubbed very cleverly to more traditional music by someone called Laura.
She has even taken out the pink of the costumes and changed it to a more traditional red.
It gives the dance a whole new feel. As AJ said at one point he preferred more trad music for a paso

Wow! It amazes me what some people can do with computers I love what she's done with it and it gives a little taster of what could have been if only the producers hadn't been intent on pushing them down the bubblegum pop route. They still did remarkably well of course but I think some of their routines could have been much more acclaimed if they'd had a fair whack at the music and styling.

I hope the Strictly PTB watch that video and take note for future reference!

Having just stumbled on to this gem of a vid, I am going to see if Laura has worked her magic elsewhere. I probably won't be as lucky to find anything else though.😞

I saw this a few days ago, it's brilliant isn't it, really shows how good a paso it was. I absolutely love the original track but not for a paso. Whenever I rewatched this dance I would turn the sound off - it's amazing how much the inappropriate music distracted you from the dance content and quality! It's become one of my favourites.

It's nice to still see some people around on this thread chatting about Claudia and AJ. Would love to know which of their dances would be your top 5. Also, which dances do you think they'd have done in the final if they'd made it? Will go away and have a think myself and post my thoughts later 😁

I too love the original track Sam, but as you say not for a paso. I think we know why we like the track though 😄. A certain dancer on YT for national dance day.😂💃

Fave 5 dances

Quickstep
Charleston
Salsa
Argentine Tango
Paso

Final dances

Judges choice --Samba ( they didn't pick a particularly good one for Louise either)
Showdance--would have been excellent. I believe it could have been salsa based.
Couples fave--Charleston.

These are my thoughts now but I may well pop back with a completely different set. 😂

Ha, I'd forgotten about that! Can I confess to loving the song before that too

Nice choices, I think many of them will be in mine too I've rewatched all of their dances a number of times and many have grown on me so it doesn't feel as easy a choice now as it might have been at the end of the show! Will do mine after work tonight I think!

I'd have loved it if the judges gave them their samba to do again. Watching it back I've enjoyed it more and I think she could have significantly improved it. Would have loved to have seen that!

My top 5 would be:

1) Quickstep
2) American Smooth
3) Argentine Tango
4) Charleston
5) Salsa

I think I loved pretty much all of them so it's hard to choose!

As for the final:

Judges' Pick: That's a tough one. Maybe they'd have picked the jive again as it was her worst dance. I agree with Hannah re: the samba though. That would definitely have been a candidate.
Show Dance: This would obviously have been full of lifts and tricks. Maybe they could have incorporated something like a bit of Lindy Hop. That would have been fun.
Couple's Pick: Charleston.

My top 5:

1. Quickstep
2. Salsa
3. Argentine Tango
4. Paso Doble
5. Charleston

I think they'd have done either the Paso Doble or Samba (or maybe even the Jive!) as the judges' choice, with the Charleston as their own choice. I wouldn't have been unhappy with these choices either.

I think my favourite 5 would probably be;
Charleston
American Smooth
Argentine Tango
Salsa
Quickstep
... in danced order rather than ranked On another day I might feel differently and include their paso or any one of their other ballroom dances

I think in the final they may have chosen to dance either the Charleston or possibly the AT as I got the sense that they enjoyed both these dances. As for the judges choice, I think if they were being nice they would have chosen her Samba and if they were not being nice then maybe her Cha Cha or Jive (probably the two dances I've rarely rewatched) As for their showdance I would have liked them to surprise people by focusing on the dancing not the tricks, their Charleston & AS were great for this imo.

If they were able to do the tour I have a feeling that they may have danced the Salsa, AT or Quickstep as any of these could work well in a large arena.

Thanks for playing along
