Do you think they will revisit this story in the future? Would you like to see that?

In a way I'm glad that Anna didn't end up convincing Faye to keep a baby she wasn't interested in, but it must be hard at the same time.

The worst example of Corrie wanting a shock storyline and none of the hard work and long-term effort that goes with it.

True. And they probably will take the lazy option of revisiting it IF Fay is still in the cast in 10 years time.

Knowing Corrie, Miley will probably return in ten years time as a gobby teen character who will try and drink at the Rovers and get caught out by Anna.

She will no doubt return at some point (depending of course how long the Windass family will go on for) but it is still a poor storyline. Soon it will be the first anniversary since the Hodges took Miley away, I do wonder if this will be mentioned. Everyone seems to have gotten on with life like nothing happened, without even a mention.

No I don't expet it to ever be mentioned again tbh!!
It was a desperate grab for headlines which they then didn't have a clue how to follow up!!
What I will say is it proved little Ellie Leach as a decent actress, particularly the birth scenes which were some of the most convincing I've seen on a soap!!

Ellie Leach has become a lot more likeable on-screen and really proved herself with that storyline. It's just a shame it was so poorly written.

Tbh although Faye wasn't likeable for so long she was a very damaged kid & I always thought Ellie Leach played the part well, sullen, withdrawn & easily upset!!

Agree about the writing with the baby s/l it was appalling!!

Eaay to say & I agree kids are difficult to portray in their early years which is why they tend to be 'shelved' & only brought out for special occasions but sadly you can't have any sense of reality without them and they are after all the future of any long running
continuous drama if you are going to have any continuity at all!!
It's a difficult one & one that no soap has successfully found an answer to!!

I didn't like her much around the first year (I know she was damaged, but still) but did warm to her. I didn't like the plan to make her pregnant, but she still worked well with what she was given. Out of all the soap kids, I think I can tolerate Faye the most, especially when compared to the likes of Simon and Amy.

When Faye gets older, any time Eliie needs time off she'll be "visiting Miley" so yes, it'll be revisited.

The problem with this storyline was it served no remit. When Sarah was pregnant, teen pregnancy was a big issue. Britain in the late 90s topped the leaderboard of underage mothers in Western European nations. I'm not saying that the issue had gone away in 2015 but kids have been given more information now then they did in 2000.

Faye's storyline didn't sit well with me for a variety of reasons. It was always going to be compared to Sarah's storyline, and they didn't offer a new slant on things. It wasn't only about Sarah though, you had Martin having an affair, Gail trying to hold the family together, Candice, Audrey. Even Blanche who slagged Sarah off, yet today's PC Corrie wouldn't allow such a thing.

Giving the baby away so easily showed Corrie simply had ran out of ideas. Clueless muppets!

I think the storyline could possibly get revisited next year after Ellie has completed school...I doubt they're going to give her any other major storylines until then. Maybe it would have been better to wait until she was a bit older?

Great post Belli. Nothing to add.

I agree, they tend to age them quickly as well, giving them a new head every couple of years when they're little.

The only way they can get around not having babies in the show is if a new family moves in, with kids already in tow. Like the Carters on Eastenders. But then what happens with the established families? Most viewers would not like to see them just die off.

They probably won't revisit it, they must be desperately hoping viewers forget it ever happened

The baby will always be there for plot uses.

I hope they change its name though.

I suspect that's not unusual with very young mothers, to name their baby after a celebrity.

I'll go with CollieWobbles. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Faye goes through a revirginisation process. It's like revulcanisation, but with thinner rubber.

I agree about Ellie Leach. I admit I dip in and out of Corrie, but I have always thought she was one of the best child actors. The labour and giving birth scenes convinced me once and for all that she was a good little actress.

The trouble is Faye is often written one dimensionally. This in turn makes it more difficult to do much with the characterisation, especially for a child I would of thought.

Indeed and you could make that point about all their sensational storylines. Peter Barlow sent to jail for murder and he's released a week later (!), Callum murdered by the Platts and there's virtually no consequences for anyone.
