It will be a toss up who goes in week 1
Ed or Lesley
This may be the dance-off contestants - but Lesley will win hands-down as she and Anton are massively popular and she will be given props for her age and "comin' ahht and giving it a go!".

Ed certainly not as popular, will not be as good a dancer and Katya is largely an unknown quantity to audiences here.

Aljaz is popular but Daisy will need to make her own mark. She didn't shine by any means in the group number and I hope the death of her grandfather won't affect her performance too.

no way I was disappointed that she froze in the group dance though when she forgot the steps. Ed's 1st out though but I do think Daisy will be the big disapointed

If she doesn't get those long limbs under control she well might be. I can't see that she'll have an extensive existing fan base to keep her in so she'll have to be at least fairly competant to survive very long.

Would obviously need to see them dance but purely on personality Louise or Melvin don't come across as particular crowd pleasers & Ed is obviously going to be Marmite before he even sets foot on the dancefloor!!

I had Daisy and Brendon paired in my head, and definitely saw fist boot potential.
I am actually enjoying Melvin and Janette, although I notice they are calling themselves pocket rocket as are Claudia and AJ. Janette and Melvin as the more experienced duo need to concede that one

Melvin would have had a 'cute, little' pairing vote bump, had there not been Claudia in the competition - Claudia and AJ are super-cute, tiny things, that will also probably be pretty impressive from the first step! Melvin and Daisy, IMO, are the two couples (with perhaps Naga, although others have persuaded me that she's pretty popular) that will struggle for votes in the early weeks. Daisy for lack of personality, Melvin for lack of fans and just not having a USP.

Ed Balls will be the comedy contestant, who's a real tryer - and the public loves that, at least in the early weeks. Combine that with a predictable lashing from Craig about their first dance, and I suspect Ed will sail through for the first week, purely on the basis of being at the bottom of the table. I'm predicting he won't even be in the dance off in the first elimination, and we'll lose Daisy or Melvin, depending on which one can sell their dance better. If Daisy gets a ballroom, I suspect the long, elegant lines, with her and Aljaz' heights, will save her over Melvin. If she has a latin dance, I'd suspect it may be the other way round.

Melvin v Daisy would be an interesting dance off. The first dance off should be week 2 and they can choose which of the 2 dances (I think) so it should be a graceful ballroom against a feisty Latin. I suspect Melvin will be the better dancer, but not based on much really. This would also give us Janette v Aljaz, interesting
Watch it will now be 2 people we never expected
I do not like the first 2 boots. I am happier when people are not bothering or get stage fright go early
By week 3 you have had a good body of experience to remember and be remembered
by. I would prefer some more obvious duds
Normally Ed's apparent commitment and enthusiasm would get him through a few weeks. I agree probably not in the first dance off but then next to go

Are we allowed to vote for Ed Balls ??

I have not paid my £3 or £25 or whatever.
I think it is too late to pay now. Only those who paid before end of last week will be allowed to vote.

I think she danced like she was inebriated at a party
When I wrote this I might have come across slightly unkind, not knowing the correct terms.
But I have since seen someone describe her using the phrase "didn't have core strength" so I think that is what I meant had I known the correct way to describe it.

I don't know if this has to do with her dress as others have pointed out.

Rachel Riley could get away with not being the best dancer because she has a significant fan base which I don't think Daisy has.

Hopefully more training is all Daisy needs to improve.

No she'll get a waltz in week 1 like Abbey and Helen, it will be good no matter how stiff she is. Alijaz is great with waltzs

Difficult to say, Alijaz is now an experienced pro in this 4th year so I think they may last a few weeks. He even got Alison Hammond past Halloween.

Alison was a decent performer at least with a vibrant personality! Plus the likes of Gregg, Tim, Jennifer, Scott all deserved to go before her. The difference between Alison and Daisy is the personality aspect I think. Alison stood out despite a strong year for contenders. Daisy seems to get lost in the big personalities this year.

probably cos Frankenstein and the zombies were afraid of her

a sticky mess that hardly anyone admits to liking? Could be.

Oh I agree she my favourite of all his partners, I think he had the most fun with her as well. Showed off his personality. Not a fan of either Abbey or Helen.

Could also count against him, as there will come a year where he fails to make the Halloween show (with a celeb partner).

I don't know what it is about Daisy but there is something missing. She didn't come across very well in my opinion ans I have a feeling she will pose more than dance. I don't think she will last long.

I'm still amazed people don't think Daisy will have a fanbase. What pre-existing fanbase did Abbey have before she competed? For me, they're exactly the same and I think they'll do pretty similar too.

I don't think Daisy will win though. I'm fairly confident she won't be first out though and Ed won't be either. I'm sure of the latter even more so.

Melvin, who really does lack a fanbase I feel, is going to struggle. He's most likely to be first out.

I will never understand Abbey's popularity.

I agree with you that a pre-exisiting fanbase isn't a necessity to do well on Strictly. Daisy seems a likeable person who doesn't take herself too seriously.

They are key attributes to anyone doing exceptionally well I feel. Take it too seriously and it can be off-putting. Hve some fun as you go along is the right way and people are more often to be on your side.

Daisy Lowe has given Strictly a bad reputation with her latest clip:

Agreed. Particularly your last point in bold.

As for Daisy, I think she could be a week 4 or 5 exit.
