I've Got Class

Looks as though Danny is cha-cha-cha-ing in Week One.

Danny's clip is now up and he is probably starting with a latin number (Cha Cha Cha, I think?).

Seems like he does have some ringer moves. Will be interesting to see how the likes of Ore and Will are going to compare to him.

Hope it's not a comedy routine that he's forced to do in his athletics kit (or Vicky's idea of it!) to a song with 'Jump' in the title.

Although knowing the BBC we've come to learn to expect the unexpected - I mean they signed Anne Widdecombe

Oh, I'd say there's plenty of songs with Jump in the title or as a major part of the chorus for them to use - weeks worth in fact! He could be in shorts every week!

Judging by Tameka's recently-uploaded training clip, she's got the Paso Doble. (???)

I thought the Tango but then they stuck a lift in at the end.

Odd, although he could just be going through the basics with her. Remember a few years ago when we thought they'd added a Samba to the Week 1 dances based on a few of the First Steps vids..

Perhaps they are going to do an illegal lift?!

In WEEK 1?!

She might have the Tango but with some Paso elements in it.

I bet Tameka is doing a burn the floor type tango

It could be an American Smooth Tango with Paso elements. My dance teacher wanted to do exactly the same lift in an AS tango we were doing (but I didn't want to do it and so we took it out).

(Paso is actually not that difficult a dance style, if that's what they're doing, but there shouldn't be lifts.)

Maybe she's just getting early practice for tha Paso? Last year Anita's training video had elements iof Waltz in it (I think) and she didn't do that until Week 6.

Quickstep maybe?

Unless we get indisputable evidence in another of the First Steps videos of a week 1 dance that isn't CCC, Jive, Tango or Waltz, I'd be tempted to assume that Tameka either has a rather strange tango or Gorka is just getting the basics of a couple of dances down (the latter would also account for the lift).

Oh but this is SCD so ... either Craig or Len will moan about the lift. Craig might mark them down. Len might shout at Gorka - he's got to take one of the new males down as his wont and AJ looks like a child so it's Gorka for Len's bully boy routine.

Judge Rinder has the Cha Cha Cha, he's currently speaking on Radio 1

*then he said he couldn't confirm what dance it was but previously was talking about the CCC so either week 1 or 2

Quote from Laura's Glamour blog: "On Wednesday he made me do the routine with a bottle of water on my head so I wouldn't bob 'up and down like a horse'."

Possibly going a bit mad in a jive?

ETA - I guess could also be her taking the rise and fall of a Waltz too seriously?

Yeah, the comment made me think Waltz (and not Jive).

Naga has said on twitter about performing with grace (and passion) and stepping on Pasha's toe, so for me that would also indicate a Waltz.

Trouble is that they get teached two dances, perhaps even more (basic steps), so it is difficult to filter out the dance for next week.

We should get another female tomorrow, either one of the two above, the gymnast or one of the two singers.

Well, Laura did say "the routine" - so I think this "bobbing" dance will be the one she performs next week

that would indicate tango to me not waltz - no passion in waltz
