Regarding Tameka, I'd go wobbly with joy if it turned out her training was for her Week 2 dance, and it was a Tango-based American Smooth; it's the only of the main 5 Ballrooms not to have an American Smooth primarily based on it (grumble grumble "American Smooth Quicksteps shouldn't exist" grumble grumble).

According to her blog, Laura is dancing "one of the more difficult ones" and Gio "made me do the routine with a bottle of water on my head so I wouldn't bob 'up and down like a horse'. It's hard to keep a straight face when you have an Italian man shouting 'No horsey' at you!"

Samba? Foxtrot? 🤔”
Tango. You go up and down in foxtrot - rise and fall - and samba has a lilt that would make slight vertical movement impossible. You do not go up and down in tango.

I can't see the producers making her do Viennese Waltz week 1 (though it was used in week 1 of the current series of DWTS), so I presume it must be Tango. Samba has the bounce action that causes a certain change in height from what I know and Foxtrot has swing and sway (though not rise and fall in the waltz sense), so I doubt it's either of those
I don't want to jump to conclusions (he may have just been getting the basics of some other dances down, or it might just be a rather odd tango); I still think the week 1 dances this year will be Tango, Cha-Cha, Jive and Waltz.
I also don't think the week 1 dances will change this year hence why I guessed if theres capes ect like a paso in Tameka's 1st dance the closest in the 4 done on the 1st week is tango

I am sure one of the Burn The Floor shows Gorker was in there was a tango that started with a paso style start - have left a message for one of my former pupils who was in the show with Gorker to see if that's right but I am sure there is - so maybe it is a tango with similar sort of start

I don't and Jo being a good teacher has to be seen yet as it didn't happen with Scott regarding technique she didn't seem to even try teach him anything, that's not saying she isn't a good teacher because Ore has more potential so her true ability to teach has chance to show this series
I think they're just starting to work on some of the technique for his second dance. I'm pretty sure from what he said at the North City Games that he has the jive for his very first dance.
