Pleased with that, although I think it could mean that Ben Davies' time with us could now be on a clock. If Wales continue to do well on the international scene, he's going to want to be part of that and he'll need to be playing regular first team football for that to happen.

Same view I've always had on Wimmer; naive and half a second slow to read. It's the difference between someone like Defoe getting his shot off and not. If Defoe looks good, you're not a top 4 defender.

From a Gillingham fan well done last night, you completely outplayed us. Winks didnt look bad at all last night and Eriksen and Lamela were just a different class of player.

Thanks! Not the start to the season we really wanted. We wanted to build on last season and so far havent. Last night really was all about Justin Edinburgh getting to return to White Hart Lane after working his way up from non league management. Also nice for him to return before the stadium is demolished. It was great to see both sets of fans giving him an excellent reception.

I wouldn't expect much more from a back up. His positioning is fairly good, he's pretty efficient with his passing and can tackle / block clean enough. It'd be hard to get someone warming the bench at a higher level.

Sure, no problem at all as long as he's happy. The question was why wasn't he higher in the pecking order.

He did a more than a reasonable job standing in for Jan last year. CCV is being fast tracked as part of our youth policy and could very well become a top class CB. At this moment in time though I would still have Wimmer as the preferred backup on the subs bench.

No suit, no smile, is Walker in the dog house ?

On a serious note, these deals were signed days/weeks ago and are being drip fed by the club to create positive spin. Walker signed the same day as Tom Carroll last week.

Great news to have all these deals tied up.

Theres no more unappealing game this season then Borough away. Just hope we actually turn up in the first half this time and actually start the game with a bit of zip.

Considering our next league game is against City, a win would be most welcome today as at least when we get battered next Sunday, we won't drop down the league too far

Well if United can pop another few goals in, my mood might brighten even further and i'll predict a narrow 1-0 loss for us instead of a battering
