What a bloody game. Absolutely delighted with that. Pep who ?

Wanyama was titanic today. If he keeps this up, Dier could find it difficult to get back in the side.

Oh but it wasn't fair - City had some injuries and some of their players didn't cost £50 million. How can you expect them to win under those conditions.

Agreed, Wan was brilliant today. Will Kane get back in the side ? Haha. Just gutted its bloody international break, the last thing we need. Then 4 bloody away games in a row ! Will be tough.

Great approach to the game, we absolutely bossed City from the first minute.

Really proud of the whole team today. Skill, effort and determination, Haven't seen all those qualities together too often

Great defensive team effort after about 60 mins in the 2H. Had a feeling Lamela would miss as generally left footers dont make great penalty takers as majority of times they will go across the keeper. Keepers, of coursè, know that.

That said, cant fault any of our players. We now need to maintain that form.

I love this comment on the BBC site about the match ..

Quote:
“Are Spurs title contenders?

If Liverpool are being touted as potential title winners after their fourth successive Premier League win at Swansea City on Saturday, then it is positively insulting to Tottenham not to elevate them to the same bracket after this pulsating performance.”

My last Spurs game at the Lane was v Feyenoord in the Cup Winners Cup in 1992 Hoping to be able to get over a few times next season for Premier League Games when we play at Wembley.”

As said earlier, after the match is a mare. Avoid the main drag to Wembley Park and go to the car park to its left. You'll be asked where you're going, just tell them you're meeting your son/brother in the Wembley Tavern or your car is parked on a rented drive in Clarendon Gardens. It won't get you to the station any quicker but you might as well spend an hour in the boozer than crushed and getting horse dribble on your shoulder.

I know it's early day's but once again Poch's team has got the meanest defence in the PL with only 3 goals against. That's alway's a good sign of intent.

I think it's too early to say whether we'll be involved in the title race for sure. With our shaky defence it's only going to take a few games where our frontline misfires and we'll incur losses unless Klopp can put things right.

Your lot, however, seem to keep moving forward under Poch and defensively you're the best in the league. At the moment it seems like you'll be the ones to go the distance with City.

To play the team with the highest number of goals scored in the league and come away with a clean sheet is great.

Fantastic atmosphere at The Lane this afternoon. Some nerves in the second half as we expected them to come out fighting but it was a very satisfying result. Wanyama and Son were very good. Lamela not so good today...

That's a good shout, and doesn't that get you up to the road next to Wembley park tube quicker avoiding the crowd control up Wembley way?

I do think it's far too early to talk about title challenges whoever you are really as there are still 31 games to go, but if your lot were up there at the end instead of our esteemed north london neighbours then i'd be happy with that

I would of subbed Lamela sooner rather than later just for insisting on taking that bloody penalty!

Wanyama has proved a good buy already. He was everywhere yesterday breaking up their attacks before there was any real danger. Its already been mentioned that Dier will find it difficult to get back in the starting line-up but I'm also thinking that Sissoko might keep Dembele out of the side also.

What I loved yesterday playing without a striker, was that we always had control of midfield and pressured City relentlessly. Even in the second half we didn't give them much joy even when some players started to tire. Sonny's form is almost like having another new player. Just goes to show that some transfers need a season under their belt to fully adjust to the PL.

A mean defence is always a good platform to do well and gives us a more than evens chance of picking up points in every game. Just a shame our strikers are having a slow start else we would really be storming it!

If we sub in another promoted side for Middlesborough we've got the same results against all these teams this season as last - we're just playing them in a different order.

Basically we're on target for 70 points and a shout for 4th. Looking good, a far stronger squad but not getting carried away ..

iIf we can avoid the end of season drop in form this time, we could be challenging for the top spot right at the death. I still think City will be the team to beat though.

Son is playing really well, impressed me yeterday, very talented player. Why do you never try him in Lamela's place, I don't really get Lamela, whenever I see him he is very quiet, seems to do very little in games but is always playing.

Well, the goons are picking up points they didn't get last season, though Man Utd aren't.

Worth remembering we also didn't have Dembele after The Battle of Stamford Bridge and it is starting to look like that need not be as problematic now ... Another major change this year is the mental impact of CL involvement for the first time on a young group.

But I agree, somewhere over 70 points has to be a reasonable target

Not surprisingly Wanyama won MotM.

Don't you just hate these breaks for Internationals? Just when we are getting a head of steam up.

WBA up next away, on Saturday 15th October. No doubt a reality check as Pulis always manages to frustrate our play with his teams (assuming he is still in charge). Odds on Chadli will score against us!

To be fair it is only in the last few 3 or 4 games this season that Son has found that extra gear and the back of the net. I think most of us would of had Lamela ahead on the team sheet before that.

Lamela probably epitomises the type of player that Poch likes, with his work rate and the fact that he immediately tries to win the ball back if he loses it. He just needs to up his goal contribution to be considered a top player.

Eriksen would be the player I would single out first. Seasons before he was getting on the score sheet regularly but more recently he appears to run around a lot without actually doing anything. Saying that, I can't really fault any of the players in the City game.

Always the way - you want that nice feeling to keep going but it's the equivalent of dragging the needle off the vinyl. Probably part of the reason why i never bother with internationals any more.

But then I think WBA will be another good test to see where we're at at the moment as well because if we can find away around Pulis' usual spoiling tactics and come away with another good win then it'll certainly bode well going forward.

But then it's going to be a tough little period in the league - in the next six games, we'll have Chelsea, Ars*nal and bloody Leicester. And you know those buggers will be the ones who'll nick a last minute winner off Vardy's arse ..
