Already being hinted that Lamela will be rested next game because of his international duties. Seems just an excuse maybe to give one of the new lads a start.

Don't have a huge problem with Lamela being rested in that case. Even though he's likely to have flown back in a private jet and slept on the plane, I don't think you can truly be match sharp after such a long haul flight.
At least with the players we've brought in we can afford to rest certain players now which I think is a good thing. |

Lamela didnt even play last weeks international and might not play in tomorrows match either. No reason at all not to play on Saturday, although I agree, its convenient for Poch to try someone else.

Given it's Stoke away ... Sissoko must be tempting.
I suppose you could tie into the Lamela situation that Sonny is apparently returning to London rather than play in a South Korean WC qualifier tonight. One brand new face might be the preferred option, so perhaps the idea is Sissoko/Sonny rather than NK .. Fwiw, I've missed the guaranteed (back four) yellow card so I'm looking forward to NK getting involved ![]() Good news that everyone seems healthy and match fit. Anyone else not 100% about Vertoghen yet this season .. good opportunity to check that out this weekend, |

Its interesting that he actually has an impact when playing for Denmark rather than just making up the numbers for us. With the new players that we have, Eriksen could very quickly find he is bench warming if he doesn't start contributing a lot more in games.
I'd imagine he'll give him a game or two to see if things pick up then I do agree that he could well be dropped, or at least relegated to league cup duty. |

he'll now score a couple of worldie free-kicks, and then maybe a last-minute winner against Sunderland or some such team, and that (along with his distance travelled stats) will be all it takes to satisfy the "he makes Ozil look shiiiiiiiiite" mob for a few months till his next flurry of activity in late January.
we spent all last season talking about cover for Kane, bought one over the summer, and then have just continued playing him anyway despite his obvious lack of fitness/sharpness/form. now I obviously don't have the same access to all the fancy-schmancy training data that "Poch" and his merry men do, but IMO it's clear to the naked and untrained eye that Kane needs a proper rest. if we can't make do with just Janssen for 2 or 3 matches, then we shouldn't have bought him. |

I see they're promoting the idea of a two hour turnaround at the NWHL between NFL and Premier League games. I'm sure it won't happen too often but, dear God, if the Effininites is the standard in cash generating stadiums, we will be decades ahead of that.

Looks like Rose is out as he hasn't recovered from his knock in the England game.
Could be a few changes for the Stoke game. |

Are they proposing people buy a ticket to watch both games? A bit of a novelty I suppose.

We are on course to not only break our own attendance record next week, but also the record for the highest ever attendance for any British club for a "home" tie. Note Arsenals Wembley match and Man Utds (technically) home tie at Maine Road in the 40's are included on the list. Quote:
1 Manchester City 84,467 Maine Road Stoke City FA Cup sixth round 3 March 1934
2 Manchester United 83,260 Maine Road Arsenal First Division 17 January 1948 3 Chelsea 82,905 Stamford Bridge Arsenal First Division 12 October 1935 4 Everton 78,299 Goodison Park Liverpool First Division 18 September 1948 5 Aston Villa 76,588 Villa Park Derby County FA Cup sixth round, first leg 2 March 1946 6 Sunderland 75,118 Roker Park Derby County FA Cup sixth round replay 8 March 1933 7 Tottenham Hotspur 75,038 White Hart Lane Sunderland FA Cup sixth round 5 March 1938 8 Charlton Athletic 75,031 The Valley Aston Villa FA Cup fifth round 12 February 1938 9 Arsenal 73,707 Wembley RC Lens Champions League group stage 25 November 1998 10 Sheffield Wednesday 72,841 Hillsborough Stadium Manchester City FA Cup fifth round 17 February 1934 |

It is White Hart Lane. They're basically building on the same site.
