I don't know who they played - Slovenia, Slovakia? - but I understand the opposition didn't play the expected diamond and Southgate froze. Basically, at that point everyone ends up looking useless.

If you start reading things into England games you may as well read the tea leafs.

Apparently it's Ledley King's birthday today.

Stupid stupid international week ....
Thank-god that's over, England never fail to disappoint!

I see Dembele has picked up another injury in training and is now doubtful for Saturday selection.

Also, reading that we want to pay TFL to rename White Hart Lane train station as Tottenham Hostspur station. Leave it as it is please!

I saw that about Dembele actually - apparently someone stood on his ankle. We obviously did pretty well without him at City, so I guess we'll have to see what happens tomorrow.

The transcript of his presser was an interesting read though. He picked up on the point of how good it would have been to have continued playing after the City result as the mood in the squad would have been high, but now with some players coming back disappointed after poor international results, you have to pick them up again and get them going.

He also said that the next seven games could go some way to defining our whole season which I actually think is a fair point. A double header against Leverkusen in the Champions League, a fourth round EFL cup match and games against Liverpool and Ars*nal amongst those.

Always good to see a Spurs player get the accolade. ...And first Asian player to win it, if that is any significance? Good for shirt sales out in the far east at least!

Man City are rattled so Everton could get a point, who knows. Need to make sure we carry on the good work of our last game. We should win.

I imagine our glorious leader is rubbing his hands at the potential revenue stream from the far east

Tomorrow's game could be made for Janssen. Pulis' teams often turn up for a fight in the hope that a game of football breaks out and Janssen's physical size and strength could prove ideal to get stuck in.

He just needs the bloody service ..

Who knows ?. I guess they'll have to take in to account travelling times for players and how they're feeling on the day. Sonny and/or Lamela could start on the bench potentially I suppose as they've travelled the furthest.

A lot of places are pointing out that we've switched to a 4-1-4-1 formation in recent weeks with some success so this will also probably factor in to the decision.

Some nice praise for Luke McGee from Peterborough manager Grant McCann

http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/37656921

He's been first-class since he's come in. Not just his performances on the pitch but his whole demeanour around the building," McCann told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"He's a young lad but he's come in with a 27, 28-year-old's shoulders on him. He demands of people in training, if you don't track a runner he's out of his goal shouting at you.

"It's exactly what you need from your goalkeeper. With his ability as well, you've got somebody special.

I guess he has picked up a lot training alongside Lloris and Vorm. But if we sign highly rated 20 year goalkeeper Pau Lopez permanently then it can't be long before McGee is moved on now he is 21.

I'm hoping Poch has learnt from last season and doesn't let Pulis nullify us again with his team tactics.

Yeah, we've always had problems with Pulis and whoever he's managing as he always sends his teams out to spoil and fight and to try and nick a win.

In a way, it'll be another good indicator of where we are going forward because if we can play around that spoiling and still create chances and score some goals, it'll show we're potentially capable of dealing with that style of play at long last.

Dembele on the bench I see - obviously further along than we thought.

Decent half of football. Been more like us -v- Ben Foster really. Could have been three up if it wasn't for him.

Bit too cautious at times, but at least we've created some good, clear cut chances.

Sounds like we've avoided the most predictable result of the season.

Pulls, Chadli and week of the media praising Poch and Spurs to the skies. Odds on a 0-1.

Yeah you're not wrong there. At least we managed to squeak a draw out of it, as much good as that will do.

Wasn't a terrible performance by any means and Ben Foster pulled off some outstanding saves. Just frustrating more than anything.

Janssen was very good - did exactly what I thought he'd do and held the ball up brilliantly. Just a shame he couldn't stick it in the back of the net.
