Yeah you're not wrong there. At least we managed to squeak a draw out of it, as much good as that will do.
Wasn't a terrible performance by any means and Ben Foster pulled off some outstanding saves. Just frustrating more than anything. Janssen was very good - did exactly what I thought he'd do and held the ball up brilliantly. Just a shame he couldn't stick it in the back of the net. |

Sissoko and Lamela? I've been told they were both awful.
Lamela will always run and look for the ball and try and play people in and he kept trying that today, so i can't fault him for that. But then I do think he's somewhat of a marmite player in that respect - i get the impression that if he's not scoring rabonas, nutmegging people and skipping past 4 players to score a bicycle kick, some fans will say he's had a terrible game (not you specifically Mr Moth sir...). His work rate and effort in every game, for me at least, makes up for tanking a pass here and there. |

Had a feeling today would be a draw. Yes one frustrating game.
Hope Toby's injury isn't too bad. |

Two points dropped today, As Poch is saying we need to be much more clinical in our finishing or we will always struggle to win games.
If we converted a third or even a quarter of the chances we create, we'd be topping the table easily. Dont want to take credit away from Foster for a good showing but we didn't help ourselves by firing everything within arms reach of him. First time we aimed wide of him we scored. Will our players learn, probably not. |

Out today so didnt see the game. Positive is we came back for a point, but gutted that we could (should) have been top and instead end the day behind Arsenal. Oh well.

Yet another game with the same result as last season - all 8 so far.
Bournemouth away next - we won well there, and then Leicester at home. Looking forward to that one very much ![]() Fingers crossed for Toby.. |

Toby's injury is going to be a big issue i think. Obviously we've got plenty of good cover, but i'm hoping he's not going to be out for a long time considering some of the games we've got coming up.
It'll be interesting to see if Poch uses Wimmer or Dier to cover though. |

The club appears optimistic that Toby will be out for only a few weeks and not months, though no return date given yet. Quote:

In terms of CCV or Wimmer, the week after vs. Liverpool (in the Tuesday Cup) looks interesting. Or CCV and Wimmer as we won't want to be too secure.
I see Rose was rotated out on Saturday, presumably as he'll have a busy night tomorrow. It could be a pretty big clue we're going for the three points in a 4-2-3-1. Sonny must surely start tomorrow, for Jannsen, or perhaps Lamela ,,,, |

I think Dier will be favourite being right footed but I'm interested to see if Wimmer or CCV gets the sub spot. Dier does seem to be the favourite to fill in for Toby as well, considering Poch has apparently spoken directly about what positions he can fill. If CCV does make the bench as cover though, which I certainly have no issue with, I think it's a sure sign that Wimmer's time at the club will be coming to an end because that would effectively make him 5th choice behind Toby, Jan Dier and CCV. |

Watching the full West Brom match last night, it gave me a lot of cause for concern. Our shooting boots were most definietly off. Not sure why Foster is getting so much praise. 95% of our shots were straight at him and they were saves he should make every day of the week. Janssen huffed and puffed and tried but looked like he's the level where he should be playing for the opposition. Is that going to change? We need Kane back and firing as without proper firepower we are going to struggle in both the league and CL and there will be more frustrating days like Sat.

Rose has appeared on the injury list with 'fatigue!' Don't think I've seen that reason used before but the good news is that he is due back tomorrow.
I know the feeling. I'd like to be on £60,000 a week for feeling it, though ..Interesting phrasing. |

Talking of which, Liverpool's chance to go ahead of us tonight if they beat United. A draw would be a good result for us though, as it would keep both teams in their current league positions. |

Yeah the draw worked out nicely, but it's made things very tight at the top now with the top five teams all separated by just three points.
Still, long way to go though. Win tonight would put us in a good position. |

Sissoko and Dembele on the bench, away in the CL ... okay, you're the boss.
Look forward to this. With fingers crossed. Onomah instead on NK is interesting. |
