Scrappy half of football, which, considering the weather, isn't hugely surprising.

Grew in to it as we went along though and definitely unlucky not to be ahead.

We got better as the first half went on although still wasteful in final third. Not impressed by the Ref as they are getting away with a lot of stuff that we are getting blown for.

Think he might change Lamela for Sissoko at some point, however, I'd prefer he put Winks on who'd still do a shift defensively and offer a bit more creativity going forward.

Talking about creativity, is Eriksen playing?

LOL. “fatigue” my a*se, you can see why Poch fancied Rose against the BL right-side. Has Rose got two yellows for us?

I see we sat off for 20, which can look like a 4-1-4; Poch had a clear tactic to absorb when not in possession for a general period of the game. We then marched up the park 10m and, voila, the Tottenham we know.

Dier has been solid. Poor old Trippy should have brought his laptop with him.

Fwiw, I’m tiring a little of Lamela – like the energy but the overall contribution .. not convinced.

Well he was named in the starting lineup. I'm still wondering if he hasn't actually nipped off down the pub

Sub makes so much sense. Wanyama needs help outside our box and we need to take control of the middle third now.

Been a while since we've had this much trouble getting hold of a half. Earn your money, Mr Poch ..

This is why Janssen might have been better on the field as at least he can hold the ball up and stop it coming straight back again

Tough game. They really stepped up a gear in the second half so I suppose we should feel relatively pleased with a clean sheet and a point but we did have a few chances to put it to bed though which is frustrating.

Wanyama, again, was an absolute beast. Proving to be a bargain so far.

That was the most absorbing 0-0 I've seen for a while

A decent result in Moscow, as well. Wish I felt happier about Wembley ..

Worryingly we were toothless up front yet again. If we cant put the ball in the net we are going to go nowhere this season. We got battered in the second half so to get a point must be seen as a positive. Dembele looks very rusty but thats to be expected. Lamela and Eriksen poor and Janssen just huffed and puffed away again with little threat. Worrying.

I don't like the table being this tight as well. I think if Monaco beat CSKA in the return leg, then it would effectively mean that none of the top 3 teams would actually exit european football because CSKA would be on 2 points with 6 more available, which would mean they'd have to beat us AND Leverkusen to stay in the competition which is going to be a VERY tall order.

If they don't do that then the worst case scenario is that we'll drop in to the europa league. again.

One bit of good news though ..

Mauricio with an injury update: "Toby's scan was all clear. That is important information for us."

Yep, it does seem a well matched group. I wouldn't worry but for the loss of WHL - worth a point before you start in European games - for the complete variable of Wembley.

I suppose I'm also not quite convinced Poch himself is as assured yet in the CL as he is in the Prem though, even if that is fair, it will come quickly.

Very good news on Toby.

Too many of our players seemed yo switch off mentally in the 2H. When we had possession we needed too many touches because our movement was so poor. We rarely got enough players forward probably because we were wary of their counter attack so this stifled us.

Our attacking players, Son, Eriksen, Dele, Lamela and later Sissoko didn't offer us anything. I left Janssen out because after he went off our forward play simply ceased to exist.

In the return leg we need to get behind their fullbacks and risk getting more players in and around their box.

Yes, it is starting to be a worry. If we don't score in the first half then it gives the opposition encouragement to have a go at us in the second. If it wasn't for Lloris we would have lost this game.

Janssen going off really showed because whenever we played the ball forward, it kept coming straight back. I thought he had an excellent game in that respect.

Eriksen was basically anonymous for 99% of the game, save for one or two moments. The two breakaway attacks we had in the second half involving him completely fell apart due to him tanking the final ball.

Trippier was another one who had a good game. His crossing (as you'd expect) was bang on and I guess it was one of those "any other day and that would have gone in" kind of games.

And on Janssen as well, look at how people approached Lamela when he first joined and look at how he improved after being here for a year. Obviously Lamela was carrying a fairly major injury that he didn't divulge in his first year, but i think his situation just goes to show that this desire for an instant return on the transfer fee isn't always realistic and you need to give players time to settle, especially since they're in a different country with a different culture.

I don't think we had one shot in the second half. I couldn't see the logic of taking Janssen off, why not one of the three under performing midfield players? At least he was stretching Leverkusen's defence and creating a bit of space. What needed to be fixed was the service into him. Instead Poch seemed to want to protect the 0-0 after 60 mins. If they had scored we would of had no way back.

Apparently Poch has said that Bournemouth is 'difficult' for Toby to return, but that he should be back for the EFL Cup game on Tuesday against Liverpool which is brilliant.

Reading that Rose left the stadium in a protective 'boot' as well which could be a concern, although Ben Davies is a more than capable replacement.

Also reading that Poch apparently took great exception to a question in the post match presser that asked if Kevin Wimmer's future at the club was in doubt given that he didn't even make the bench - again - last night.

It's honestly baffling as to how Wimmer is being treated at the moment. I can only guess that his attitude towards training and not playing has taken a nosedive and that's why he's essentially being frozen out.

Yes great news on Toby, scan fortunately showed no actual knee damage from his knock.

Kane could be back as soon as the Leicester game on 29th Oct, if training all goes to plan.

Wimmer not even getting a sub spot with his experience of playing in the Bundesliga does seem to confirm he is out of favour. He signed a 5 year extension only recently, so you do wonder what has gone on behind the scenes.

If Janssen fails to score in the next few games it will heap even more pressure on Kane when he returns. Of course Kane may need a few games to get up to speed so its a real concern if others arent chipping in with goals.

I didn't even consider the Bundesliga connection actually.

I suppose it's "Bentaleb Syndrome". Do the work and play well enough to earn a new deal and then take your foot off the gas.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't go out on loan in January.

So, Saturday is the first time this season where we play before everybody else knowing that a win will put us top of the league (even if for just a few hours)

I'm expecting wins for Arsenal, Liverpool and City though based on the fixtures. Chelsea and United play each other so either of those will drop some points.

1-0 to Bournemouth it is then!!
