Pathetic yet again. Absolutely pathetic. Another half of football and another half with no goals and with us looking dire. This is Poch's team, this is Poch's tactics.
As I said before the game "where do we go from here"? |

Actually theres plenty of people much more well connected then humble old me who have heard whispers of unrest at the club between Poch and the team, but hey, believe what you like.
Actually, there are plenty of reasons why most of us are here, not there. But I don't want to keep you from your mates, you must have lots to talk about, especially the 'he's lost the dressing room' "ITK" stuff so clearly in evidence on the pitch today. |

Your internet geezer mates on what you call "proper" Tottenham message board with their nudge-nudge top "ITK" info ... wonderful.

Those are the sort of games that do give the players a bit of a boost confidence wise so it'll be interesting to see if they carry that forward to Tuesday.
Under Poch's management. |

We have had long term injuries along the entire spine of the team, and the nonsense distraction of playing the CL away at Wembley. And yet:
It took us 35 matches last season to finally reach a 2-point game average. We have that. We are -1 point vs. the exact same matches last season. Our goal diff is 10. FIVE of our outfield ten were English. Arguably, MotM was an Academy graduate debutant. We finished with SIX. Can you not see the table - tbh, I'm on the verge of assuming you are on medication. |

In other words, by 18/19 we'll be in sight of matching all but 3-4 clubs in the world. |

From what I saw, first half we were rubbish, too many players seeking the easy pass and messing up a lot of those. Too many players not willing to create space off the ball and instead standing next to their marker.
Poch obviously threw the tea cups around at HT as we came out and dominated the game until we gave them a soft penalty. Our game then fell apart again and it looked like the Spammers may get a comfortable win. Luckily for us Son and Alli coming on gave us a bit more impetus and we were then given a weak penalty decision. From then on I thought we would nick it and we did but we should be counting ourselves very lucky. Yes a win is a win but all it did was temporarily disguise the very poor performance. Too many of our players are currently underperforming and not taking responsibility. Will that change? Probably but it's going to be frustrating waiting for it to happen. |

Yep, Poch lost the first half. Mostly due to another absent-Toby experiment but also due credit to Bilic for a strong, surprising selection.
Poch won the second half 3-1 though it was a kind of mixed emotion - fraught we left it so late, relief his changes were effective and comfort in knowing he is starting to use options from the bench to better effect. If we can replicate the goons in that 'kitchen sink' segment it would be most helpful. Harry Winks, eh: Tom Carroll, we hardly knew you. |

The same way beating Man City gave us confidence right............or did it instead lead to our worst winless run in over 12 years ?
Under Poch's management. Enjoy your doom and gloom though, rather than go along with the reality. We're not top level, we're what we are, and I doubt most people expected top four at the start of last season, nor this, so fighting for that, and with a real chance, is pretty good for me. |

Your constant obsession with last season over and over and over again is laughable. It was, officially, a 5000-1 season. A season where all the other top teams underachieved and a season which we actually ended with embarrasment and humiliation.
And I think theres only one person on medication here.................. |

I thought we must be in relegation trouble reading this, but when I look at the table, I see we're three points off top, and unbeaten....

I for one just did not understand the formation Poch put out. We have been moaning about the lack of creativity and Saturday's set-up certainly wasn't going to help this with our most creative players sat on the bench. What was the point of playing 3 CMs and 2 strikers? It just played to West Hams strengths, all they had to do was just cut off the supply to our front men and we were toothless. I hope this was just an experiment because it nearly lost us the game, until the substitutions bought the formation back to one that could actually link up our play and get at them.

Previous seasons we might of been happy with this but expectations have changed. Performances this term are being judged on what we know the team is capable of. Of course we as fans exaggerate the highs and lows but I guess the underlying frustration is that we have been drawing against lower teams that we should be blowing away, like the other top teams.
- The team bottled the run-in at the end of last season. Lost our heads against Chelsea etc "Nonsense! Actually we did the exact opposite of losing control and just showed that we wouldn't be intimidated, even though we're the youngest team in the league!" - We've started poorly this season "it's not the manager's fault he's had £70m worth of talent dumped on him" - Eriksen is playing terribly "but look at his distance covered and pass completion stats on Squawka...he's actually one of our top performers" then of course the constant repetition of results in comparison to the same games last season, net spends, 5 players in the England squad, a new 60,000 seater stadium and the subsequent global and intergalactic domination to follow, etc etc etc and then of course finished off with an ironic....Poch out!!!!! I've always thought certain Newcastle and Liverpool fans were the most deluded I'd ever come across, but certain members of this parish would certainly give them a run for their money. |

We were very lucky to nick the win! The irony is, of course, he has long been accused of not having a plan b, and in the past two weeks we've seen a total of four formations. Two of those formations were becasue of Toby, plus the fact what he'd tried eariler (during Toby's injury, and H's) had stifled creativity and goals. Against Bilic's three CDs, Poch's diamond was ineffective and so he changed after 20 mins or so. The thing to understand I think is the extreme impact of losing a key player - H, then Toby -on your shape and tactics. As for nicking the win - that's exactly the capability we were looking to add this season. Unlike before, we now have that end 10 mins if we need it - Sonny was classic the way he was aiming to get in the box and cause havoc. Wenger has built a career on it, it's important we've been able to add it. Yes we were lucky to some degree but West Ham also didn't handle the pressure. |

You two have made your opinions crystal clear so is there really any need for the constant digs ?. You've both managed to suck the life out of this thread as it is, so is it really too much to ask to just let the rest of us get on with it in peace ?. |

You didn't seem to have a problem when everyone jumped on pete at the end of the West Ham game, I noticed. How does that work then? I think I've made it abundantly clear to you a few times now that the way I post won't change. Stop wasting your time. You don't like it, then feel free to ignore me. Others have done, and so I'd imagine there to still be some life in the thread for them. Take a leaf out of one of their books. |

Physioroom now has Toby not back until 3rd December along with Lamela and Ben Daviies. Interesting that Poch is saying that he will not risk players by rushing them back from injury yet he played Kane in the Arsenal game, who subsequently had to be sent home from his England squad duties due to fitness issues.

Look guys, its the constant personal digs that I find sucks the life out of this thread. All opinions are welcome in this forum and if you disagree with someone then please come back with a reasoned counter argument. Let's not resort to petty insults, we are all better than that!

what I still don't get is how you managed to scroll through all the other posts with "digs" as you call them, and only managed to see mine and pete137's. that's conveniently selective. good on you for not taking any crap, but I certainly have no intention of taking yours either.
