Look guys, its the constant personal digs that I find sucks the life out of this thread. All opinions are welcome in this forum and if you disagree with someone then please come back with a reasoned counter argument. Let's not resort to petty insults, we are all better than that!
I toally agree, ALL opinions are welcome and everyone "should" be free to post what they like. Unfortunately Watkins took it upon himself to try and be the self appointed moderator of the thread and thinks that the only things posted should be what HE personally agrees with. It makes him look cringeworthy, embarrassing and pathetic. For him to pick out only mine and Pee's posts and conveniently ignore all the others containing "personal digs" shows a level of delusion that suprised even me. I find it amusing he says hes a "grown up" yet clearly a strangers opinion on an internet discussion forum about his football team upsets him so much.

Im sure "the other one" will pipe up soon too.

Anyway, back to the match. Huge pressure on us tonight. We will win 3-0

I assume we take at face value Toby is out 'til December and it's not one of those Danny Rose exhausted/not situations ..

Well, I suppose the good news then is that Monaco won't have a clue how we set up - does anyone - which may give us an early edge for a bit.

If I were Poch I might even think of changing things once Monaco adapt, just to mess with them.

Frenchie's Sissoko and NK not on the bench vs. Wet Sham, is Poch up to something .. what on earth do you do about Harry Winks on the back of his one PL start ..

No Eriksen, Walker or Vertonghen in the starting line up.

Glad to see Tripper and Winks given a chance.

On first blush it looks like our best shape; 4-2-3-1. Wimmer and Winks obv. the interesting choices. Looking for quality of delivery into the box from Sonny, Deli, Rose and Trippy: Attack, attack, attack! Maybe

Lloris, Trippier, Dier, Wimmer, Rose

Wanyama, Dembele

Winks, Alli, Son

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Walker, Vertonghen, Janssen, Nkoudou, Sissoko, Eriksen.

Very suprising team. That back 4 is a big call. Interesting no Eriksen but I dont see it as him being dropped, more resting him for the weekend. Glad Winks is starting.

Ah I see. Rose is suspended for Chelsea, Davis is injured so Vert will play at LB vs. Chelsea.

Maybe.

Stupid penalty to give away. Phew... Lloris to the rescue and keeps us in the game.

Monaco giving us a lesson in off the ball movement so far. Kane is isolated and Son is a waste of space so far as he keeps making the wrong decisions.

Sloppy 1H from us again, defensively all over the place as Trippier and Rose are pushing so far forward and struggling to get back. Monaco exploiting the space behind them.

Going forward we lack imagination and keep making the wrong decisions. Son and Alli need to be doing better.

I wouldn't say they are that good... This is a shocking display- is this the same team from last season. Dier is living up to his name- he is certainly not a defender.

Thank god for Lloris- Spurs have always had good goalkeepers fortunately- as this score would be more embarrassing than it already is. Am glad now that I am not going to be able to watch the Chelsea at the weekend- not sure my nerves could take it..

without Lloris, this would've been 4 or 5 quite comfortably. I don't understand how we've been so poor defensively, and yet completely outnumbered in both midfield and attack. what has been our game-plan exactly?

Dear Mr Levy

Can we sign Lemar, Silva, Mendy and Gernain as our team needs some intelligence.

Thanks

Another half of football under Poch and its another shockingly bad performance. Nothing changes. Defence cut to ribbons over and over again, nothing going forward, Son looks terrible, we look clueless yet again.

How you teams fans feel about your teams attitude to the champions league

Got the feeling they were as indifferent to it as the europa league

This is painful to watch. The worst thing is that its no suprise (to some of us anyway). How has Poch managed to make so many of the players in our squad look so poor ? Thats takes some doing.......but Poch has done it. Totally and utterly clueless at this level. Its like watching Brendan Rodgers with that rabbit in the headlights look. He simply hasnt a clue what to do to turn this around.

Disgusting.

at least we can concentrate on "the journey" now. not for us, these pointless cups and midweek games, we're winners where it really matters....unbeaten runs, defensive records, net spends and a new stadium. glory, glory!

I have been saying for weeks now that we are regressing under Poch at such an alarming rate this season that you just cant see it turning around. No goals, no creativity, no flair, no passion, no style of play, no tactics, just NOTHING. He is out of his depth and simply doesnt have a clue what to do. I was critcized for daring to suggest that there is unrest between the team and manager behind the facade of a big happy camp. Did anyone tonight see a team playing for their manager or a manager motivating his team ?

This was the champions league for gods sake.

No chance.
Levy will be away counting his pennies now and happy he has sold out Wembley in advance of tonight.
So no doubt he'll be the only one happy!
