You get the feeling after watching that game that any team with even a bit of quality will beat us.

Bah humbug lol !”

Walker was my MotM but both fulll backs had stonking games in contrast to the rest of the team. Agreed, something lacking in our forward play and it almost seemed like too much of an effort to do anything remotely creative with some players. I thought the game had 'draw' written all over it. That we actually nabbed all three points was purely down to Walker's and Rose's endeavours.

Enough said about Sissoko's recklessness. How he stayed on the pitch I don't know?

missed the last couple of games due to work commitments so no point going over old ground.

Reading through the forums it seems we are definitely trying for a couple more attacking players for next month, a creative force and someone with pace. Usual problem is that if our targets want to come, will we pay them the wages they ask for or will they go to Pool, Chelsea or Arsenal?

Been a couple of enquiries about Davies apparently.

If the media are to be believed, then Chelsea are interested in Davies as they need to up their home grown quota. Plus of course he played in a fairly successful back three for Wales in Euro 2016, which could make him of interest to Conte. I can't see Poch letting him go though mid term, as we would have no backup for Rose without resorting to using one of our CBs.

Wages aside, there are going to be very few clubs that would be willing to release a top class attacking player in the January window, unless they are desperate for the cash. With Lamela still injured and Janssen proving impotent we are short of options though in the more forward positions, especially creative/goal scoring ones.

Well clearly I had to come back with this amazing news. Can't let Boris and Natasha have all the fun

It's pretty significant as well as, at 29, it's likely it could well be his final top flight contract if he sees it out. I know keepers tend to be able to go on a bit longer than outfield players, but I suspect that if he does stay until 2022 then he'll very likely be allowed to leave on a free to maybe finish out his career back home in france.

We are so limp and flacid in attack that we desperately need some new faces in Jan. If we dont, then I fear for us with what we have seen so far this season. In terms of realistic targets, its two of our old players who stand out as obvious. I would have Siggy and Defoe back in a heartbeat. They would instantly improve our attack, know the club, know the premier league, have shined in poorer teams and can walk straight into the side. Its crazy that we are in this situation but we are playing so poor in attack that the best option going forward this season is to go backwards to old faces. How exactly that has been allowed to happen is a big concern.

Poch himself said he regretted Siggy leaving. Of course, signing them would make far too much sense. We will probably sign no one with Poch saying (lying) that he is happy with the squad, or at best sign some cheap unknown from a foriegn league who has never kicked a ball in english football (because we "never" repeat our mistakes do we haha !)

Announcing the Lloris contract just before christmas to purposely create a positive news item was predictable weeks ago to anyone with half a brain. The level of manipulation and calculation by the our PR dept is as shallow as a puddle. A nice positive news story to make us "feel good". Lets make headlines beating Southampton instead.

Drip feeding seems to be the norm now days.

Just been announced that Vorm has signed a new contract too.

Good for Vorm. He must be quite content at the club because he must know he'll never replace Hugo on any kind of regular basis barring injury. He could easily moved on for a starting role.

I guess the Llloris and Vorm deals put an end to any thoughts of Pickford heading our way. It will also be interesting to see if we make the Pau Lopez deal permanent either in Jan or the Summer. Not sure we actually need to as Luke McGee seems to be doing well at Peterborough and is easily good enough to be a no.3 keeper unless his loan has given him the desire to move on in search of first team football.

Think January will see loans for Kyle Walker-Peters, Luke Amos and Connor Ogilvie. All three now need regular first team experience so we can decide to keep them or move them on in the summer.

That would make perfect sense. Unfortunately Poch does'nt like loaning out anyone who he thinks has a future at the club. He (foolishly?) believes they should be coached by him alone, rather then getting much needed experience and game time in another team.

Talk that Koeman is apparently looking to swap Ross Barkley for Sissoko.

Probably wouldn't have a huge problem with that, but straight swaps in that respect are a rarity in football so I can't see it happening to that end.

That said, we did only apparently pay £16m up front for Sissoko, as far as i'm aware, so I guess a two-way transfer would be workable.

Don't see that at all. Didn't they sign Bolasie after they missed out on Sissoko? Really wouldn't want Barkley either.

There have been quite a few rumours and "ITK's" linking us with Barkley over the past few weeks. It's more than likely his agent is angling to get him a move away somewhere rather than explicitly to us because he does appear to not feature in Koeman's plans.

I'm willing to give Sissoko a certain amount of slack but he hasn't exactly covered himself in glory so far.

I don't think we'll be doing any business next month either way, aside from one or two outgoing loans of reserves.

Good riddance to (yet) another pathetic signing.

Quote:
“Roma activate Fazio clause

Federico Fazio is now a Roma player, as it’s reported he made enough appearances to activate the €3.2m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.

The defender arrived over the summer on loan for €1.2m with an option to buy pending certain “sporting situations.”

According to La Repubblica newspaper, there was a clause automatically activating the permanent transfer if he reached certain targets and Fazio has now made the right number of appearances.

Roma now have to pay Spurs a further €3.2m and can keep Fazio next season as well.

The 29-year-old Argentine has made 22 competitive appearances for Roma, 17 of them in Serie A, scoring one Europa League goal.

All the teams around us have won so makes it even more vital that we get 3 points tomorrow.

Wouldn't be surprised if we sign Siggy back. There have been rumours flying around anyway, but the official social media has mentioned him a few times recently to say he isn't our player, and he has apparently now handed in a transfer request.

I've seen a few rumours linking us to a bid for Wilfred Zaha, so if you look at those and the rumours about Gylfi as well, it does make you wonder if he's losing patience with N'Koudou as I suspect they'd occupy a fairly similar position ??.

I imagine we'll likely see Kevin Wimmer off on loan somewhere next month as well.

Siggy, like Defoe has shined in a poor team and would love to see him / them back. They walk into our squad today and they improve it, simple as that. It should be a no brainer. I am a realist though and I doubt we will sign anyone, or if we do it will be someone like (god forbid) Berahino. We are the lowest scorers of all the teams above us so its clear to everyone where our problems lie. If its not addressed in Jan I see no chance of us getting top 4.

I suppose if we're seemingly in the market for attacking midfielders, could you consider Memphis Depay an option?

Seems to be out of favour with Mourinho and would be relatively cheap as well

I'm not going to hold my breath for anyone of note joining us in this transfer window.
