Word seems to be doing the rounds that Kyle Walker is the latest player to sign a new deal.

It will be so tight at the end that i can't help but look at every result ... obv. helpful that Man Utd lost at home and Celsea drew at Swansea. Somewhat unhelpful the goons picked up 2 more points this season than they did last vs. Southamption.

Just another 40+ weeks of swings and roundabouts ..

H was amusing on twitter:

Harry Kane ‏@HKane Sep 10

It feels weird scoring this early in the @premierleague season! 🤔😉 #COYS #BPL

I think the league has settled down now.

City and Utd will charge ahead as top 2.

Chelsea may join them to make a top 3 or they join a battle for 3rd and 4th with spurs, arsenal and Liverpool.

I don't believe in Man U as a title contender. At all. I think City will dominate the head-to-heads between the big clubs, like Barca did in Pep's first season, and that will result in a 10-or-so point winning margin at the end of the season. Chelsea (no Europe will be big for them) should finish second, and then Man U and Arsenal.

You could be right. City could run away with it. Utd and Che might be challenged more in the big matches against top 6 but at home they'll both come away with the points. Against the rest of league I suspect they'll be ruthlessly efficient.

Far too early to predict anything. I remember when Chelsea were top of the league under Scolari and everyone thought they would cruise to the title. Just a couple of months later he was sacked.

Of course Man City look odds on to win it, and Man Utd will probably be second. The rest is up for grabs. Chelsea could implode again and Liverpool blow hot and cold. However the lack of european football is a massive advantage to them. As for us, who knows. Cant read too much into yesterdays second half, the proof of the pudding will be the next five games. Lets hope the good things from yesterday carry on in the coming weeks.

Fwiw, I could almost feel sorry for Bilic because he's a good man doing a good job .. in a sh*thouse stadium. I hope to god we do better at Wembley that Wet Sham in their own ground

Got a feeling all his good work last season will mean nothing. i wonder if, in the end, some players won't want to sign for them - assuming it's as bad as some say ..

Excluding them, it's basically 4 from 6, then - with half an eye on Koeman (crafty himself, and a new owner with money)

i am in agreement re. City but I think 2nd to 4th is very open this year.

Nobody said that Pee. It was me being silly. Having fun. You know .. "fun" .. that strange, alien concept you seem to be unable to master when it comes to Spurs

People seem to say that every year, but it very rarely turns out that way. Money nearly always talks, and some clubs have spent an awful lot of it.

I see Monaco won 1-4 at Lille on Saturday - top of the table after four games, won the last three.

Mirror are "reporting" that Lamela has DEMANDED £120k a week for any new deal.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...double-8814578

They "reported" the same a few weeks back about Eriksen, so i'd take it with a big pinch of salt.

Re Lamela

Agree take his "wage demands" with a pinch of salt. All our players agents know the wage infrastructure of the Club and more importantly its limits. We know the Club is actively negotiating new contracts with many players and more importantly, as with Eriksen, we know Lamela is very happy being a part of the team/squad at Spurs. The motivation behind this is obvious, the more successful we become the more interest there will be in our players from other Clubs. If Levy can keep our players on longish contracts then he can demand bigger transfer fees.

If Lamela continues to improve at Club and international level then it is inevitable that the richer Clubs will start to knock on his and our door. The better players at the bigger Clubs around Europe now only move on if they are not playing regularly thereby limiting their international squad places or if they feel the Club they're at won't achieve the level they ultimately seek. I get the impression that at this moment all our players really do see us progressing and want to be a part of it.

However, if Madrid, Barca, the Milan Clubs, Juventus, PSG or Bayern come knocking and a player decides he wants to leave there is little Levy can do about it other than extract a huge fee for him. The power is all with the player/agent.

Nearly always! Chelsea and Man U struggled last year and. Leicester surprised even themselves. I see the 5 teams below City being very similar in strength this year even though on paper some have very decent squads.

Brilliant news

Dier signs a new five year deal.

Definitely one of the best 'bargain buys' we've ever made I think. I just wish I could find the post from last year or so where I said he'd make a better DM than a CB .. honest i did .. heh ..

Last four seats available at Wembley - £15 each ...

Important to continue the narrative of a club on the up so I'd say Levy got his price-demand curve spot on.

the reasons for Chelsea and Utd's struggles aren't that hard to determine though, and in both cases they've been corrected. they've also both strengthened considerably too, and in Chelsea's case that was already a title-winning team before it imploded.

obviously anything can happen, but the smart money would and should be on both those teams (and Arsenal, given that they ALWAYS do) finishing ahead of us.

I'll be at all the games, and hope we get a good turnout. I know we sold out, but since we avoided the big gun in the draw, I've seen so many fans on Twitter trying to re-sell theirs.

Really ? Im shocked. I go to games to watch Spurs, not the other team. Cant be much of a fan if they are not bothering to go.

Always been the case though. Plenty of season ticket holders who don't turn up at WHL when we play the 'minnow' teams.
