He does look rather worried. Im sure he will look more assured when we win the Europa
Following in the footsteps of the greats.

How we finished 3rd took some doing.

I cannot share the optimism of most on here.
Maybe the way I have put my unhappiness has bewildered a few.
I'm sure I'm not the only 1 who has doubts
but maybe the only one who says it how I see it without holding back.

Not looking for backup because my words seem a little harsh I know.

Playing the long game on this.
Maybe poch will be levys undoing. Straw camels back???
If you expect us to be favourites to win the league, then you can be disappointed. It is a massive achievement for us to finish top four, and to have a bit of a shot at the actual title in a season is unheard in your time as a fan, until last season, so how you can be so miserable about that beggars belief.

Even though i really can't see anyone coming in next month, i was reading something earlier on that put it in to words fairly well.

It made the point that a player like Ross Barkley would want to be playing every week and wouldn't want to move just to remain on the bench so, for him at least, that would be why he wouldn't come to us.

That situation would be made even more difficult by Sissoko's upturn in form and Lamela's eventual return as well.

Same reasoning was applied to Isco as well, even though his wages would probably scupper any move either way.

Former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov is keen to return to the Premier League, his agent says.

The former Bulgaria captain, 35, is a free agent after being released by Greek club PAOK Salonika in June.

"Dimitar feels he can play for at least another year and his priority would be to come back to England,"
Would we have him back for 5 months ? Would'nt cost us anything and even at 35 I would rather him coming off the bench if we needed a goal then Janssen, not to mention what Kane and others could learn from his footballing brain on the training field. Its a sad reflection on how poor our bench is that he would improve us. In terms of "gettable" players in Jan its slim pickings.

Berbatov couldn't play at the tempo Poch requires, especially at the age of 35. In today's game you have to be involved for the whole time you are on the pitch.

I agree its doubtful but I would say that when Janssen has been on the pitch he has been lacking tempo himself, so out of the two I still would have more confidence in Berb for a few months. At the end of the day a couple of goals can be the difference between a champions league spot and missing out.

this is exactly why a player with the potential of Ross Barkley will never get game time with spurs,
and many of the spurs great footballers would never succeed in the regime he has now.
workrate will always win over with Poch

he would pick a Wanyama/Sissoko over a Hoddle/Ginola everyday of the week,
sad but unfortunately true.

only saying what my eyes see

I would also add that one of my biggest criticisms of Poch has been his lack of a plan b or his ability to change tactics when things are'nt going our way. You cant just play one way and expect it to succeed every time. He needs to realise that there is more to the game then high press / high tempo.

Moments of high quality in attack have been few and far between. A lot of our play has been predictable and ponderous. The "unexpected" is exactly what we have been crying out for at times.

He wasn't even doing that at 25.

That's right, and that's what made his partnership with Robbie Keane so successful. Keane did all the running and whenever Berbatov woke up and found a good ball, Keane would, more often than not, be on to it.

If he wants to come back to the premiership, then moyes should be looking to bring him in at sunderland - if he still has a job by the end of the month.

he could potentially work quite well with defoe.

Huge game as we can go third (for a bit). Should be 3 points in the bag.

Toby partnering Wimmer at the back and Dier alongside Wanyama as twin DM's so Poch must be expecting a physical game.
