Rihanna-Greatest hits
I can see this being dropped this Christmas.
What should the tracklisting be if you were to choose only 14 tracks, with track 15 being a completely new single? ![]() Mine: 1. Pon de replay 2.S.O.S. 3.Umbrella 4.Don't stop the music 5.Disturbia 6.Rude boy 7.Only girl in the world 8.What's my name 9.We found love 10.Where have you been 11.Diamonds 12.Stay 13.Work 14.This is what you came for 15.New track |

1) Pon de Replay
2) Don't Stop the Music 3) Umbrella 4) Take A Bow 5) Disturbia 6) Rude Boy 7) Only Girl 8) What's My Name 9) We Found Love 10) Where Have you Been 11) Diamonds 12) Stay 13) Work 14) Love On The Brain (hoping it smashes this autumn as ANTI's next single) 15) New track I don't think she'll release a greatest hits though tbh. |

Way too many songs to cram into 14 tracks! 20 tracks including a new song seems more suitable.
I hope we get a GH from her though. |

Rihanna - Greatest Hits
CD 1 - The Party 1. ** new song ** <--- released as a single to help sell the album, mid tempo RnB/pop song 2. Pon De Replay 3. S.O.S. 4. Umbrella 5. Shut Up And Drive 6. Don't Stop The Music 7. Disturbia 8. Live Your Life 8. Rude Boy 9. Only Girl (In The World) 10. What's My Name? 11. Who's That Chick? 12. S&M 13. We Found Love 14. Take Care 15. Where Have You Been? 16. The Monster 17. Work 18. Needed Me 19. This Is What You Came For 20. ** new song ** <--- anthemic club banger to close CD 1 CD 2 - The Afterparty 1. Unfaithful 2. Hate That I Love You 3. Take A Bow 4. Rehab 5. Run This Town 6. Russian Roulette 7. Te Amo 8. Love The Way You Lie (Piano Version) 9. California King Bed 10. Man Down 11. Cheers (Drink To That) 12. Princess Of China 13. You Da One 14. Diamonds 15. Stay 16. FourFiveSeconds 17. Bitch Better Have My Money 18. American Oxygen 19. Kiss It Better So basically each disc would have a theme. CD 1 being all the club bangers and R'n'B cuts whilst CD 2 would be all the more relaxed R'n'B and ballads. |

Here's my idea for one
Rihanna: The Bajan Anthology Disc 1 Pon De Replay If Its Loving That You Want SOS Unfaithful We Ride Umbrella Shut Up and Drive Hate That I Love You Take A Bow Disturbia Rehab Russian Roulette Hard Rude Boy Disc 2 Only Girl In The World What's My Name S&M California King Bed Man Down Cheers We Found Love You Da One Where Have You Been Diamonds Stay FourFiveSeconds Bitch Better Have My Money Work NEW SONG NEW SONG NEW SONG Disc 3 If I Never See Your Face Live Your Life Run This Town Love The Way You Lie Who's That Chick All Of The Lights Take Care The Monster Can't Remember To Forget You This Is What You Came For Too Good Disc 4 A dvd of all her music videos I would have different editions. A one disc edition with a mixture of disc 1 and 2. A two disc edition. A three disc edition with her collabs. And then a four disc edition with the dvd. |

I like what you did with the Disc 3 thing.
It is hard but I think the standard edition would feature about only 15 tracks. Maybe Love the way you lie would deserve to be on there, I would exchange that with Where have you been- that although i Love it- is not as classic as LTWYL |

As long as Love On The Brain isn't on it... Such a Lana Del Rey cast-off! and I don't think it suits Rihanna so much (she DOES do a good vocal on it, fair enough...
). A single disc GH could be...1. Umbrella 2. Only Girl (In The World) 3. Diamonds 4. Work 5. We Found Love 6. Talk That Talk 7. Unfaithful 8. Don't Stop The Music 9. What's My Name? 10. Stay 11. Pon De Replay 12. Where Have You Been 13. Take A Bow 14. Rude Boy 15. S&M 16. Russian Roulette 17. Bitch Better Have My Money |

I think Love On the Brain is one of the best songs of her career. She absolutely smashes the vocals live and clearly adores the song. She sounds better live than on the studio version of that song.
I think she'll release another full album next year tbh. |

I don't reckon she'll release one. They don't sell well anymore in the digital era so it's a bit of a risk.

Even though I'm not a big fan, if there's one artist in today's age that could legitimately pull of a Greatest Hits album, it's Rihanna. She has enough songs to cover it. It's embarrassing when artists squeeze out a GH album having been around for all of 5 minutes and half the tracks are recognisable and the other half are like "When the hell was this crap released!?"

She has so many great songs any Greatest Hits album should be a double CD at least otherwise I wouldn't find it worthwhile.

In 15 songs with but one new it's tough but I'll try:
1. Umbrella 2. We Found Love 3.Diamonds 4.Disturbia 5.SOS 6. Pon De Replay 7. Rude Boy 8. S&M 9. Take A Bow 10. Stay 11. Unfaitful 12. Only Girl (In The World) 13. Work 14. Don't Stop The Music 15. Fourfiveseconds 16. New If she were to do it right a 2 disc standard and a 3 disk deluxe with disc 3 being her features. |

Can't see her releasing one this year as it would have probably been announced by now.

It would be cool if she released a compilation of all her singles and collaborations plus a couple of new songs and DVD of her videos, but if she did release a GH/singles collection I could see it being mainly the big hits (her own and collabs) and more pop than urban songs plus a couple of new songs. I imagine something like this (in no particular order):
1. Umbrella 2. We Found Love 3. Pon de Replay 4. Stay 5. Work 6. Only Girl (In The World) 7. Rude Boy 8. S&M 9. Take A Bow 10. Disturbia 11. Fourfiveseconds 12. Diamonds 13. This Is What You Came For 14. Shut Up And Drive 15. Rehab 16. What's My Name 17. New 18. New |

I never understand the point of Greatest Hits albums. They're just a cheap money maker for record labels and usually artists don't actually want to do them, it's the label that pushes them. All of the songs are already out there, so what's the point of putting them together on one album? If people want to listen to the songs then they can as they're all already available.

1 We Found Love
2 Umbrella 3 Diamonds 4 Only Girl (In The World) 5 Work 6 Stay 7 Rude Boy 8 What's My Name 9 Four, Five Seconds 10 Don't Stop The Music 11 S&M 12 Love The Way You Lie (ft. Eminem) 13 Where Have You Been? 14 Pon De Replay 15 New Song Following the rules of this thread, of course. All of those above seem the most appealing to a casual listener. For a more comprehensive collection, I think a two-disc set would be appropriate and I'd include a lot more features. The glaring omissions from the above, for me, would be Man Down and Cheers (Drink To That) but they weren't massive hits and unlikely to be included on a greatest hits collection. |

I left Man down and Russian roulette out because they were minor hits and RR is not essential on a greatest hits (though rated well) Rated r
![]() Forgot Four Five seconds but then again, the usual Greatest Hits always has 1 omission no one understands or crap edited versions. I remember Garbage's greatest hits still leaving out Androgyny

Not so much greatest hits but all the hits:
Rihanna is set to release a vinyl box set of her entire discography of albums as well as a booklet containing every photo from every album shoot. https://www.twitter.com/RihannaDiva/...961345/photo/1 I really want this but probably can't justify the cost .

That said, in certain situations you are right that they are completely pointless and it's the label that pushes them. I remember P!nk saying in interviews when she released hers in 2010 that her label wanted her to release one for the past 5 years and she managed to persuade them not to by releasing I'm Not Dead and Funhouse quite close together and tour in between them. Then in 2010 it was her 10th anniversary and they said to her they were going to release it with or without her participation [same thing was said to Spice Girls and Steps which led to their reunions] and so she gave in and they made a deal with her that they'd give her time to go in the recording studio to record a few new songs for it as she said she didn't want to release an album without any new music for the fans I suppose Greatest Hits albums are more for casual fans rather than hardcore fans. I think after 10 years they serve a purpose then should be rereleased after every 3 or 4 albums |
